Director, Platform Products
Team: Product · Level: Director · Location: Remote · Reports to: VP of Product
About the Role
Our Client is a technology company at its core , building the platform that health plans, TPAs, and their clients run on. The Director of Platform Products owns the products that everything else is built on top of — the core services, frameworks, and capabilities that power payer and consumer-facing experiences.
This is a deeply technical product role . You'll execute the platform strategy and roadmap, make architecture and sequencing trade-offs alongside Engineering, and ensure the platform remains fast, extensible, scalable, and reliable as the Client grows. Payer domain experience is not required — technical depth is what matters most.
What You'll Do
•
Execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Client's platform products.
•
Partner with Engineering on architecture and technical trade-offs and confidently participate in technical design discussions.
•
Write clear and complete PRDs that Engineering can build from with minimal back-and-forth.
•
Balance platform investments in performance, scalability, developer velocity, and extensibility against feature needs from product teams.
•
Lead cross-functionally across Engineering, Design, and Payer/Consumer Product teams .
•
Work with leadership to set direction, make decisions in ambiguous situations, and move quickly as priorities change .
What We're Looking For
•
8+ years of Product Management and/or Engineering experience , including senior ownership of complex technical or platform products.
•
Engineering background is non-negotiable — degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent, with prior hands-on coding experience. You may not code day-to-day now, but you should think like an engineer .
•
Proven track record of shipping platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products through the full lifecycle.
•
Strong systems-thinking skills , with the ability to reason about architecture, data models, scalability, and technical constraints.
•
Excellent communicator who can surface risks and ideas early and move comfortably between executive-level discussions and technical deep dives.
•
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is highly adaptable to change.
Nice to Have
•
Background at a top-tier product or engineering organization known for operating platforms at scale.
•
Experience with multi-tenant, configurable enterprise platforms .
