Postman is helping developers and professionals across the globe build the API-first world by simplifying each step of the API lifecycle and streamlining collaboration—enabling users to create better APIs, faster. The company is headquartered in San Francisco and has offices in Boston, New York, Austin, Tokyo, London, and Bangalore - where Postman was founded. P.S: We highly recommend reading The API-First World graphic novel to understand the bigger picture and our vision at Postman. The Opportunity Postman is an AI-native developer companion that integrates deeply into every part of the development workflows. We are looking for a Product Builder to join our product team and help shape how developers experience Postman in an AI-first world. This role blends product management, engineering, and customer empathy. You should be as comfortable writing a spec and making a PR as you are building a prototype. You will work closely with engineering and design to imagine, prototype, and ship new experiences that make Postman indispensable for developers. The ideal candidate moves easily between strategy and execution and uses technical skills to accelerate product learning and delivery. You are an engineer first who enjoys solving business problems with a strong bias to action to meet customer needs. What You’ll Do Own and drive the developer journey, focusing on how AI-native experiences. Build functional prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate ideas quickly and inform roadmap direction. Collaborate closely with engineers to shape APIs, workflows, and systems. Translate business and user goals into developer-friendly product experiences. Drive adoption of and improve Postman’s suite of products. Maintain a deep understanding of developer workflows and pain points. Operate independently, identifying opportunities and driving them to completion. About You Must Have: 5+ years of experience in engineering or a hybrid PM/engineering role at a B2B SaaS or developer tools company. Strong technical background; you’ve built or contributed to real web apps, APIs, or systems. Experience building prototypes or proof-of-concepts (React, Node.js, or similar). A strong grasp of developer workflows and how tools fit into them. A bias toward action and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to move ideas forward. Interest in how AI is changing the way software is built. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across design, engineering, and leadership teams. Nice to Have: Previous founder or early-stage startup experience. Experience with developer tools, SDKs, or API platforms. Familiarity with AI or ML integrations (OpenAI, LangChain, vector databases, etc.). Experience thinking across the full customer and business journey, not just features. How You'll Succeed: Deeply engage in the building process and don't treat this like a traditional PM role. Drive impact and avoid getting stuck in the implementation details. Focus on major workflow improvements vs small optimizations. Don't lose touch with developer needs and solving for internal convenience. Don't wait for direction. Create clarity and momentum. The reasonably estimated base salary for this role ranges from $160,000 to $185,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. What Else? In addition to Postman s pay-on-performance philosophy, and a flexible schedule working with a fun, collaborative team, Postman offers a comprehensive set of benefits, including full medical coverage, flexible PTO, wellness reimbursement, and a monthly lunch stipend. Along with that, our wellness programs will help you stay in the best of your physical and mental health. Our frequent and fascinating team-building events will keep you connected, while our donation-matching program can support the causes you care about. We’re building a long-term company with an inclusive culture where everyone can be the best version of themselves. At Postman we value in person collaboration. We are in office 5 days a week for all roles based out of our hubs in San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Austin, New York City, Tokyo and London. For roles based in Bangalore, employees currently work in the office three days a week and will transition to five days per week by the end of the year. We were thoughtful in our approach which is based on collaboration and grounded in feedback from our workforce, leadership team, and peers. The benefits of our in office model will be shared knowledge, brainstorming sessions, communication, and building trust in-person that cannot be replicated via zoom. Our Values At Postman, we create with the same curiosity that we see in our users. We value transparency and honest communication about not only successes, but also failures. In our work, we focus on specific goals that add up to a larger vision. Our inclusive work culture ensures that everyone is valued equally as important pieces of our final product. We are dedicated to delivering the best products we can. Equal Opportunity Postman is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
