Job description

We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Seattle, Washington D.C., Raleigh, London, and Amsterdam. Plaid’s Corporate Finance team leads company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and reporting, delivering strategic insights to internal and external stakeholders. We align financial goals with business objectives to support informed decision-making at the senior leadership and executive levels. What excites us: - 3+ years of relevant FP&A experience, ideally in Corporate Finance, G&A support, or a broader FP&A role. - An “act like an owner” mindset: you take initiative, follow through on commitments, and ask for guidance when needed. You’re eager to learn and take on more responsibility. - A solid foundation in core FP&A activities, including month-end close, reporting, variance analysis, and forecasting, with exposure to annual planning and a working knowledge of accounting principles. - Strong analytical skills and experience building or maintaining financial models. You care about accuracy and enjoy understanding the business drivers behind the numbers. - Clear communication and a collaborative approach, with the ability to explain findings, ask thoughtful questions, and build relationships with business partners. - Curiosity about AI, automation, and process improvements, with an interest in developing systems skills. Familiarity with Pigment, Adaptive, Anaplan, or similar FP&A tools is a plus. What excites you: - You enjoy a fast-paced, high-growth environment where you can learn quickly and gain experience across multiple areas. - You’re energized by stretching beyond your day-to-day responsibilities, being scrappy, and taking on new challenges that help you learn and grow. - You like improving how work gets done, whether that means simplifying a process, automating a recurring task, or making an analysis more useful. - You enjoy digging into the numbers, understanding business drivers, and turning your findings into clear insights that help inform decisions. - You value working closely with Finance, Accounting, and business teams, building relationships and learning from their perspectives. - You’re excited to develop your systems skills in Pigment, our FP&A platform, and partner with our systems lead to build models, dashboards, and workflows. Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. We recognize that strong qualifications can come from both prior work experiences and lived experiences.
