Merging cutting-edge technology into the world’s most highly integrated SoCs, Silicon Labs provides device makers the solutions, support, and ecosystems needed to create advanced edge connectivity applications. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Silicon Labs has operations in over 16 countries and is the trusted partner for innovative solutions in the smart home, industrial IoT, and smart cities markets. Learn more at www.silabs.com . Summer Intern Program Silicon Lab is currently accepting applications for potential Summer 2027 internship opportunities. By applying to this talent pool, you can express interest in future openings that align with your education, technical experience, and career interests. Our internship program gives students the opportunity to contribute to meaningful engineering projects while learning from experienced professionals. Interns work alongside technical teams, receive support from a manager and mentor, and build practical skills through hands-on assignments. To learn more, please watch this Intern Testimonial. Depending on the location and team, the program may also include: Technical and professional-development sessions Networking opportunities with employees and company leaders Community-building activities with fellow interns Exposure to different teams and career paths A final presentation or project showcase Specific responsibilities, qualifications, locations, and program dates will vary by available internship. Design Engineering Teams The following Design Engineering teams may be looking for early-career talent to mentor and develop: Analog/Mixed-Signal Design: Design, simulate, and evaluate analog and mixed-signal circuits used in semiconductor products. Projects may involve amplifiers, converters, power management, clocking, sensors, or other circuit-level technologies. Digital Design: Support the design and implementation of digital logic for integrated circuits and system-on-chip products. Work may include RTL development, microarchitecture, synthesis, and design integration. Design Verification: Help develop verification environments, test plans, and test cases used to confirm that semiconductor designs function correctly. Projects may involve SystemVerilog, UVM, scripting, debugging, and coverage analysis. Physical Design/Layout: Support the physical implementation of integrated circuits, including floor planning, place and route, timing closure, power analysis, physical verification, or custom IC layout. RF Design: Contribute to the design, simulation, and testing of radio-frequency circuits used in wireless semiconductor products. Projects may involve transmitters, receivers, amplifiers, oscillators, and other RF components. Design Automation/CAD: Develop and improve software, scripts, tools, and workflows that help engineering teams design and verify semiconductor products more efficiently. Candidates interested in multiple teams—or still exploring which area of Design Engineering best fits their interests—are encouraged to apply. General Process and Timeline This posting represents a talent pool and may support multiple potential Summer 2027 internship openings. Applying to the talent pool does not guarantee an interview or placement on a specific team. Applications will be reviewed as internship needs are confirmed. If your background aligns with an available opportunity, a recruiter may contact you to discuss your experience, interests, location preferences, and the next steps in the interview process. Hiring timelines may vary by team and location, and selections may be made on a rolling basis. Candidates are encouraged to apply early and keep their contact information and résumé current. If a recruiter feels a candidate s resume is applicable to various teams, they may share that resume with multiple hiring managers. Ideal Intern Profile We are looking for students who are curious, collaborative, and excited to apply their academic knowledge to real engineering challenges. Ideal candidates may have: Current enrollment in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Microelectronics, or a related technical field Graduation date of Dec 2027 or later Coursework, research, projects, or internship experience related to semiconductor design or verification Exposure to one or more relevant technical areas, such as analog or digital circuits, RTL design, verification, computer architecture, VLSI, RF systems, signal processing, or physical design Experience with relevant tools or languages, which may include Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL, UVM, Python, C/C , MATLAB, Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens EDA, or similar technologies Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills The ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with a collaborative engineering team A willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and learn new tools and technologies AI Integrity Silicon Labs recognizes that artificial intelligence tools are increasingly used in education and professional development. Candidates may use AI tools to research the company, organize their thoughts, review technical concepts, and prepare for interviews. However, all application materials and interview responses must accurately represent the candidate’s own experience, knowledge, and abilities. The use of unauthorized real-time assistance, outside individuals, or AI-generated responses during an interview or technical assessment is not permitted. Candidates should be prepared to explain their work, reasoning, and technical decisions independently. Silicon Labs is an equal opportunity employer and values the diversity of our employees. Employment decisions are made on the basis of qualifications and job-related criteria without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
