Job description

WHO IS LITMUS Litmus is building the data foundation that powers industrial AI. AI doesn’t work without real-world, contextualized data - Litmus makes that data usable. As AI adoption accelerates, most industrial environments still can’t access or use their operational data. We solve that gap. We’re a growth-stage software company helping manufacturers access, structure, and use real-time data from machines, systems, and sensors at the edge. Our platform sits at the intersection of edge computing, AI, and industrial operations, enabling some of the world’s largest companies to run operations in real time, reduce downtime, and optimize production. Backed by leading investors and trusted by global manufacturers and partners like Google, Microsoft, Dell, Oracle, and Mitsubishi, Litmus is powering the shift toward software-defined manufacturing. WHY JOIN LITMUS BUILD THE INFRASTRUCTURE THAT MAKES INDUSTRIAL AI POSSIBLE AI is moving beyond the cloud and into the physical world. At Litmus, you’ll build the infrastructure that enables real-time data to power AI and machine learning systems in production environments. WORK ON PROBLEMS WHERE SOFTWARE MEETS THE REAL WORLD Most AI systems fail without access to real-world data. You’ll build the layer that makes them viable in production. We solve challenges at the intersection of distributed systems, real-time data, and industrial constraints — where reliability, scale, and performance are non-negotiable. HAVE REAL IMPACT, FAST You’ll work on systems used by real customers in production, with direct impact on product and company trajectory. As a scaling company, we move quickly. You’ll have ownership, visibility, and the ability to shape both product and company as we scale. JOIN A HIGH-PERFORMANCE TEAM We’re building a team that holds a high bar and pushes each other to improve. You’ll work alongside experienced operators, engineers, and leaders who have done this before and are building again at scale. We hire people who take ownership, move quickly, and care about outcomes. No passengers. OUR CULTURE At Litmus, the team is collaborative, curious, and low ego. People are scrappy, take ownership, and look for ways to make an impact. We value empathy just as much as execution, whether that’s in how we build, how we communicate, or how we support each other. We’re a growing company, so things move quickly and not everything is perfectly defined. If you enjoy figuring things out, working closely with others, and making steady progress, you’ll do well here. ABOUT THE ROLE You’ll lead the team that builds the face of an industrial platform running on factory floors around the world. Litmus Edge is how engineers see and shape what’s happening in their plants, and the UI your team owns covers it all: configuring and operating the edge itself, the marketplace of applications that run on it, and the data, models and analytics engineers build from what their devices produce. You’ll set the architecture for a single codebase that ships as a dozen differently branded products and keep it coherent as features come in from multiple engineering teams. This is a high-impact role with significant ownership of the technical direction of Litmus Edge, while leading and growing a small, senior front-end team. What You'll Do: - Own the front-end architecture of the Litmus Edge UI, including the Angular/TypeScript applications, shared component library, state and theming patterns, and configuration that allows a single codebase to ship as multiple OEM-branded products. - Build and maintain complex, data-heavy interfaces across configuration, marketplace and analytics workflows, keeping them performant and maintainable as they grow. - Mentor the engineers on your team, help them resolve complex issues, and make key architectural and design decisions alongside other lead engineers. - Review your team’s code and front-end contributions from across Engineering, while remaining hands-on in development yourself. - Work closely with Product, QA and Backend Engineering to meet requirements, align the UI with its APIs, and protect the test hooks that QA automation depends on. - Own how UI changes reach customers, including tagging components for builds and following the team’s branching conventions. Uphold code quality through unit testing, accessibility and cross-browser standards, and security vulnerability management. What You'll Bring: Have To Have: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a similar field. - 8+ years of experience in frontend development, including 5+ years building production applications with Angular (v2+) and TypeScript. - 3+ years of experience as a technical team lead. - Strong command of modern front-end architecture, including component design, reactive state management (RxJS) and shared component libraries. - Experience building and debugging complex, data-heavy interfaces, such as real-time data applications, visualisations or large editable grids. - Solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility, accessibility standards and design principles. - Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines and collaborative development workflows. Nice To Have: - Experience shipping white-labelled or OEM-branded products from a single codebase. - Familiarity with OIDC/Keycloak authentication and role-based access control in the browser. - Exposure to industrial automation, IIoT or other operational technology (OT) domains.
