We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Sr. Application Developer with deep Microsoft Dynamics 365 expertise to design and build CRM and Power Pages (portal) solutions for our Commercial and Marketing organizations. The application focus is Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, and Field Service; authenticated customer and partner portals built on Power Pages; and marketing integrations with Eloqua.
This is first and foremost a senior Dynamics 365 technical role. You will be the go-to expert on our CRM platform: designing solutions, building the most complex components yourself, and solving the hardest problems. Based in Everett, you will also take on delivery management for our offshore development team and serve as the business liaison for functional requirements. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
Just as important, you will be the champion for the platform. You will bring new Power Platform and Dynamics 365 capabilities, Dynamics 365 AI, and Copilot Studio agents to Commercial and Marketing teams, show them what is possible, and turn that excitement into solutions people actually use.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Dynamics 365 technical design and hands-on development
• Serve as the senior Dynamics 365 technical expert for the CRM and Power Pages platform, owning solution design, data models, and security models, and setting the development standards the offshore team follows.
• Build the most complex and time-critical components yourself, including plug-ins, custom APIs, PCF controls, JavaScript form scripting, and Dataverse Web API integrations with Eloqua and ERP systems (Oracle).
• Know where to use standard Dynamics 365 functionality, configuration, low-code automation, or custom code, and choose the most maintainable option.
• Design the Dataverse security model, including business units, security roles, teams, field-level security, and record sharing, to meet business and compliance needs.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, including plug-in and transaction failures, performance bottlenecks, security and access problems, and integration errors, using plug-in trace logs and platform diagnostics.
• Own Dynamics 365 solution management and ALM, including solution layering, managed solutions, environment strategy, and automated deployments, and keep the platform ready for Microsoft release waves.
• Build model-driven and canvas Power Apps, business process flows, and Power Automate cloud flows with robust error handling and monitoring. Document design decisions and review significant architectural changes with the enterprise architect.
Offshore delivery management
• Take on delivery management for the offshore development team, owning sprint commitments and progress in Azure DevOps through testing, release readiness, and production stabilization.
• Plan sprints and releases: prioritize and refine the backlog according to business priorities, break features into user stories and tasks, estimate effort, balance work against team capacity and skills, and set clear sprint goals.
• Run sprints with the offshore team, including sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint reviews and demos, and retrospectives.
• Build and maintain a multi-sprint release plan that aligns business priorities, dependencies, testing, and deployment windows, and adjust it as priorities change.
• Turn approved requirements into clear technical specifications, design walkthroughs, and acceptance criteria that minimize clarification and rework.
• Coordinate across time zones, managing dependencies, handoffs, and written decisions so work keeps moving around the clock.
• Review offshore designs, code, and configuration against development standards, and coach developers through complex defects.
• Report status, risks, and scope changes to business owners and IT leadership, and escalate unresolved issues to architects, platform owners, or Microsoft support when needed.
Dynamics 365 applications
• Sales: Account and contact management, account hierarchies, lead qualification, opportunities, product catalogs, price lists, quotes, orders, forecasting, and seller productivity, including connections with ERP (Oracle).
• Customer Service: Case management, queues, unified routing, service-level agreements, entitlements, knowledge management, and representative productivity.
• Field Service: Work orders, incident types, customer assets, service agreements, scheduling, dispatch, case-to-work-order handoffs, and technician mobile and offline experiences.
Power Pages (customer and partner portals)
• Design, develop, and support authenticated customer and partner experiences using Power Pages, including existing Power Apps portals, with Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, forms, lists, web templates, and the Power Pages Web API.
• Implement external identity and single sign-on with identity and security teams, ensuring authenticated users map correctly to Dataverse contacts, accounts, and accessible records.
• Configure web roles, table permissions, and page permissions, and test that users can access only the customer or partner records they are authorized to see.
• Troubleshoot portal authentication, registration, authorization, data access, performance, and accessibility issues.
Business liaison and functional requirements
• Serve as the primary technical partner for Commercial and Marketing stakeholders, including sales, customer service, field service, and order management, to understand workflows, pain points, business rules, and desired outcomes.
• Run discovery sessions and translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, prototypes, and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with Marketing on the flow of leads and campaign responses from Eloqua into Dynamics 365 Sales, and on using CRM data to improve marketing effectiveness.
• Explain solution options, tradeoffs, platform limitations, and effort in plain business language, and validate proposed behavior with stakeholders before development.
Platform evangelism, Dynamics 365 AI, and Copilot Studio
• Be the internal champion for Power Platform and Dynamics 365: follow Microsoft’s release waves and roadmap, and translate new features into concrete opportunities for Commercial and Marketing teams.
• Run demos, showcases, lunch-and-learns, and hands-on workshops that get business users excited about the platform and build a pipeline of high-value ideas.
• Identify, prototype, and deliver Dynamics 365 AI and Copilot capabilities across Sales, Customer Service, and Field Service, partnering with platform owners on governance and rollout.
• Design and build Copilot Studio agents grounded in CRM data to automate and simplify Commercial and Marketing processes, from proof of concept through production.
• Track adoption, gather user feedback, and turn insights into a roadmap of improvements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 7 or more years hands-on Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and Power Platform related development.
• Expert-level Dynamics 365 development skills, including plug-ins, custom APIs, PCF controls, JavaScript form scripting, and the Dataverse Web API, with the ability to explain in depth solutions you have personally built.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, and Field Service, including their data models, configuration, and extensibility.
• Strong command of the Dataverse security model, Dynamics 365 solution management and ALM, and diagnosing complex performance and production issues.
• Proven hands-on Power Pages or Power Apps portals development, including Liquid, web templates, web roles, table permissions, and external authentication.
• Advanced Power Platform skills across model-driven and canvas Power Apps and Power Automate, plus working knowledge of Azure integration patterns.
• Experience working closely with offshore or distributed development teams, and the willingness to take on delivery management, including sprint and release planning, estimation, sprint ceremonies, code review, and cross-time-zone handoffs.
• Experience acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, turning ambiguous requests into clear functional requirements and working applications.
• Hands-on experience with Copilot Studio and working knowledge of Dynamics 365 AI and Copilot capabilities, agent integration, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts, plus genuine enthusiasm for learning and demonstrating new capabilities quickly.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills, and comfort demonstrating technology to business audiences as well as guiding developers.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior experience managing delivery for offshore or vendor Dynamics 365 development teams.
• Experience building and launching Copilot Studio agents or Dynamics 365 Copilot capabilities in production, with measurable business adoption.
• Hands-on experience integrating Dynamics 365 with Eloqua.
• Experience integrating Dynamics 365 Sales with Oracle ERP for quotes, orders, and order fulfillment.
WORK ARRANGEMENT
Based in Everett, Washington, with onsite attendance under company policy.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within the first 90 days, learn the CRM and portal application landscape, development standards, business processes, and backlog. Establish yourself as the go-to Dynamics 365 expert by delivering enhancements or fixes hands-on, take ownership of offshore sprint delivery, build trusted relationships with Commercial and Marketing stakeholders, and host a first showcase of new Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and AI capabilities.
Over the first year, Dynamics 365 development standards are consistently followed; the offshore team delivers predictably with fewer defects and less rework; complex platform issues are resolved quickly; and at least one Copilot Studio agent or Dynamics 365 AI capability is live and adopted by Commercial or Marketing users. Business stakeholders see the team as a source of new ideas, not just a service desk. Specific measures and targets will be agreed with the manager and business owners.
