Job description

Applied Intuition, Inc. is powering the future of physical AI. Founded in 2017 and now valued at $15 billion, the Silicon Valley company is creating the digital infrastructure needed to bring intelligence to every moving machine on the planet. Applied Intuition services the automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining and agriculture industries in three core areas: tools and infrastructure, operating systems, and autonomy. Eighteen of the top 20 global automakers, as well as the United States military and its allies, trust the company’s solutions to deliver physical intelligence. Applied Intuition is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with offices in Washington, D.C.; San Diego; Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Ann Arbor, Michigan; London; Stuttgart; Munich; Stockholm; Bangalore; Seoul; and Tokyo. Learn more at applied.co applied.co. We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions ABOUT THE ROLE The People Intelligence team builds the internal software Applied Intuition's leaders use to run the company as it grows and scales to many thousands of employees: tools for performance management, team planning, headcount and budget, organizational insight, and the everyday experience of working here. Building a great company is as much a people problem as a technical one, so we work side by side with leaders and internal teams to understand the problem before we build. Much of that understanding comes from data: turning people, financial, and operational data into measures and analysis leaders can trust. You'll join a small team where every engineer owns products end to end: working directly with company leaders as customers, turning operational bottlenecks into durable systems, and shipping to production continuously. Few roles offer this combination of company-wide impact, executive visibility, and real ownership. AT APPLIED INTUITION, YOU WILL: - Own products end to end, from an ambiguous problem to shipped, reliable software: Go services (Gin, sqlc) and React/TypeScript frontends (Vite) on Postgres - Build with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) and LLM APIs every day, while keeping a high bar for quality: tests, code review, safe migrations, and careful deploys - Build data pipelines and integrations with company systems of record (Workday, Slack, Jira), with versioned schema migrations (Alembic) - Deploy and run what you ship on GCP and AWS (ECS, RDS, Terraform), with CI/CD in GitHub Actions and your own monitoring and alerting - Retire legacy Python/Flask systems by migrating their data and APIs onto the modern service platform without disrupting the people who depend on them - Turn people, financial, and operational data into metrics, analyses, and visualizations that leaders use to make decisions, using SQL and Python - Keep sensitive people and financial data correct and access-controlled: identity-aware access, authorization enforced in code, and tests that catch regressions before deploy - Work directly with company leaders and partner teams (People, Finance, IT, and others) to decide what gets built WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS: - BS in Computer Science or a related field - 5+ years of experience building software products with a large user base - Experience with a major cloud provider (GCP and/or AWS) and relational databases - Comfort building with AI coding tools - Strong SQL and experience analyzing data: defining metrics, separating signal from noise, and explaining findings to non-technical audiences - As much interest in business and operational problems as in technical challenges, and the communication skills to work directly with senior stakeholders - A track record of owning products end to end, from ambiguous problem to shipped solution NICE TO HAVE: - Experience with Go, React/TypeScript, and Postgres - A background in data science or statistics (e.g., survey analysis, forecasting, or experimentation) - Experience with HR, finance, or other enterprise data systems - Experience at product companies in the HR-tech or fintech space - A history of using software to solve logistical and operational problems, such as internal tooling or process automation - A combined business and engineering background Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. Applied Intuition is an equal opportunity employer and federal contractor or subcontractor.
