Job description

[app.ashbyhq.com] ABOUT US ZeroMark builds AI-driven counter-drone systems that actually work in combat. No PowerPoints. No hype. Just field-proven technology that saves lives. We've doubled year-over-year for two straight years, winning contracts that prove what we've always known: real innovation happens in the dirt, not in conference rooms. Our systems transform standard weapons into AI-powered platforms that detect, track, and neutralize drone threats—because a $200 drone shouldn't require a million-dollar countermeasure. Here's what makes us different: ZeroMark operators don't build from behind screens. You'll validate tech from Blackhawk helicopters, train alongside Tier-1 units (who happen to be our coworkers), and test at legendary ranges from White Sands to the cliffs of Hawaii. When we say field-tested, we mean you'll shoot it, fly with it, and push it to failure. We don't tweet about changing the world—we're too busy actually doing it. Watch us in action here drive.google.com. Dark humor required, thick skin recommended. If you want to make an actual impact—and have some unforgettable Tuesday afternoons along the way—let's talk. We're all about delivering practical, field-tested tech, not just theories. WHAT YOU’LL DO We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechatronics Engineer with a specialization in robotics to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design, development, and integration of complex robotic systems, with a proven track record in robotics, electronics, and software. This role will be pivotal in bringing our next generation of defense-focused robotic platforms from concept to deployment. - Lead the design, development, and testing of advanced robotic systems, focusing on mechanical, electrical, and software integration. - Develop robust control algorithms and implement them on embedded systems. - Design and prototype custom electronic circuits and PCBs for robotic applications. - Conduct thorough system-level testing, validation, and verification of robotic platforms. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers. - Contribute to all phases of the product development lifecycle, from concept generation to production and deployment. - Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions. - Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics, mechatronics, electronics, and software technologies. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement. WHAT YOU’LL NEED - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. - 8+ years of professional experience in robotics or mechatronics engineering, with a strong focus on hands-on development. - Proven expertise in robotic system design, including kinematics, dynamics, and control. - Strong proficiency in embedded systems programming (C/C++, Python) for real-time applications. - Extensive experience with electronic circuit design, simulation, and PCB layout (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad). - Solid understanding of sensor integration, signal processing, and data acquisition. - Experience with various communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, UART, I2C, SPI). - Familiarity with robotic operating systems (ROS) or similar middleware. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. BONUS POINTS - Experience in the defense or aerospace industry. - Knowledge of cybersecurity principles as applied to robotic systems. - Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, CoppeliaSim, MATLAB/Simulink). - Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards for defense applications. WHAT WE OFFER - Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. - Opportunities for professional development and growth. - Engaging work on impactful projects that contribute to national security. - A collaborative and innovative work environment.
