Job description

Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a leading global communications agency built to navigate the complexities of a hyper-connected world. We represent the icons and innovators shaping culture—from global heritage corporations and high-growth tech startups to the non-profits, creative legends, and visionary founders who define the global discourse. Our expertise spans the full cultural spectrum. We operate at the intersection of entertainment, social impact, corporate reputation, and consumer lifestyle, executing seamlessly across traditional media, social-first outlets, brand partnerships, and influencer ecosystems. Whether we are navigating complex crisis management, elevating advocacy campaigns, or launching global consumer brands, we are storytellers at our core. You may notice our digital presence is purposefully understated. While our clients are global household names, we believe the best work happens when the spotlight stays firmly on those we represent. We fly under the radar by design - preferring to let our campaigns, and our results, speak for themselves. If you're driven, intentional, and ready to do good, we're ready for you! Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis has an opening for a high-energy, multidisciplinary Account Executive in our New York City office. You have been in the industry for about 2–3 years and have developed a clear understanding of how to move a story through today’s complex media landscape. We are major proponents of the generalist mentality; we want an AE who is just as excited to pitch a disruptive tech founder as they are to manage a high-profile consumer launch or a social good initiative. This is a role for a modern storyteller who understands that in 2026, a brand’s reputation lives at the intersection of earned media, social ecosystems, and cultural influence. You are a go-getter with a sharp blend of EQ and IQ, capable of leading the daily "ground game" while thinking creatively about a client's full public persona. Whether it’s navigating the social zeitgeist or building relationships with national media and digital creators, you are the motor that keeps our accounts moving forward. The Role: Daily Execution: Own the daily execution for a roster of 4–6 clients. You are responsible for active media outreach, securing impactful placements, and identifying creative windows where our clients can authentically join the cultural conversation. Modern Storytelling & Pitching: You aren't just sending releases; you are architecting moments. You understand how to coordinate earned media with social-first content and creator partnerships to ensure every campaign has a cohesive impact. Account Stewardship: Manage the essential foundation of your accounts. You own the agendas, meeting recaps, and activity reports, ensuring they are always meticulous, up-to-date, and client-ready for our senior leadership and stakeholders. Event & Experience Support: Provide critical support for media-specific events, including press conferences, influencer activations, and red carpets. You own the logistics: managing invite lists, wrangling media on-site, and ensuring every detail is executed with total precision. Content Creation: Draft creative pitches, press materials, blog content, and briefing notes. You understand how to translate a complex brand mission into a clear, persuasive narrative that captures the attention of editors and digital-first audiences alike. Cultural Radar: Monitor the news cycle and social platforms daily. You aren't just looking for headlines; you are looking for "vibe shifts" and trending topics where our clients’ missions can provide a meaningful voice. Team Collaboration: Partner with Account Managers and Directors to achieve client deliverables. You are a natural collaborator who thrives in a "we, not me" environment and is eager to learn the art of long-term strategy. Relationship Driven: You recognize that our business is built on trust. You lead by example in every interaction—with teammates, clients, and journalists—prioritizing integrity, transparency, and professional poise. Who You Are; The NYC Hustler: You have 2–3 years of experience in PR or communications across a variety of industries. You have a proven track record of securing results and managing the moving parts of a fast-paced account. The Modern Strategist: You live on social media and understand the creator economy. You know which platforms are driving conversation right now and can translate that knowledge into a smart pitch or brainstorm idea. High EQ: You possess high EQ and great judgment. You can read a room, handle last-minute client requests with ease, and maintain a calm, solution-oriented attitude under pressure. A Strong, Fast Writer: You are a concise and creative writer. Whether it is a 140-character pitch or a deep-dive briefing note for a CEO, your writing is sharp, persuasive, and error-free. Entrepreneurial Spirit: You love a good brainstorm and aren't afraid to suggest a new platform or a bold story idea. You have an innate curiosity about the world and how brands can make it a better place. Meticulously Organized: You excel at managing multiple tasks simultaneously. You take genuine pride in the accuracy of your reports and the thoroughness of your media research.
