Job description

Company Overview Chronograph was founded to bring next-generation technology to private capital markets. Through our suite of cloud-based analytics and data management solutions, we help many of the world's largest and most sophisticated venture capital, private equity, and credit funds understand their investment performance in unprecedented detail, with over 258,000 private companies and 15,000 private capital funds monitored via our solution suite. At Chronograph, we get to go "behind the scenes" and work directly with investors who are driving some of the most impactful changes across high growth start-ups, global infrastructure and renewable energy, growth equity, and all other private capital strategies. The firm is backed by Sixth Street Growth, Summit Partners, Carlyle AlpInvest, and Nasdaq Inc., and has seen continuous rapid growth since its founding in 2016. Our client base today includes hundreds of investors and asset managers monitoring more than $5.9 trillion in invested capital with 8 of the 10 largest GPs and 5 of the 10 largest LPs using Chronograph. Background Private capital is a multi-trillion-dollar asset class historically run on spreadsheets, where private investment funds and portfolio companies report financials in their own formats on disparate timeframes. Chronograph has 10 years of market-leading experience in extracting, normalizing, reconciling and delivering disparate private markets data at scale: in total, the company manages over $39 trillion in data assets, acting as a central “clearinghouse” of data on behalf of institutional investors. For the company’s Limited Partner (LP) clients, Chronograph’s Data Operations team of New York-based private capital analysts directly oversees the process of collating, extracting, normalizing, and reconciling this enormous dataset across all sub-asset classes within private capital. The team has proven an ability to deliver; we’re now seeking the next level of productivity gains. The Role We are seeking an analytically rigorous, operationally-minded Product Manager to continue to transform how private capital data is processed at Chronograph. This is a senior role for someone who has a proven track record of transforming technology enabled operations into automated pipelines supplemented by agentic, LLM-native extraction. Reporting to the Head of Product, you'll work closely with senior leadership, engineering, and applied data extraction teams to own the roadmap for Chronograph's Data Operations processes. You’ll continue to scale the existing systems and processes that convert tens of thousands of GP and fund reporting documents into structured data for many of the world’s leading investors. You'll map and optimize all aspects of the process, quantifying and assessing where agentic processes can run unattended and where data needs human review, setting the confidence thresholds that govern automated reconciliation and matching. You'll redesign how documents are aggregated and organized for the extraction pipeline, cutting manual steps and exploiting the scale that comes from Chronograph's broad coverage of the fund reporting universe. You’ll seek opportunities to expand the scope of data processed by Chronograph, unlocking access to new commercial opportunities, end markets, and asset classes. Ultimately, you'll redefine how data moves between GPs and LPs in private capital markets. As a Product Manager focusing on Fund Administration at Chronograph, you will: Transform the Data Operations function : Drive the evolution of Chronograph’s data delivery platform from a technology-supplemented process towards an agent-driven pipeline that automatically handles repetitive tasks to drive increased capacity, timeliness, and efficiency. Own the roadmap : Develop and maintain a detailed product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on business needs, technical feasibility and resource availability Re-engineer current processes : Evaluate all aspects of the process, relentlessly ranking and implementing incremental improvement for each touchpoint, particularly where human intervention is required. Design the routing logic : Build the classification and reconciliation logic that decides which documents clear automatically and which route to a human reviewer, based on accuracy and confidence thresholds, never losing sight that 100% accurate data is the operating minimum in financial services. Prove efficiency gains with instrumentation : Track throughput and accuracy as the function evolves, tying operational efficiencies to financial objectives, and using that data to steer the roadmap. Partner cross-functionally : Work closely with Engineering to spec requirements, Design to shape review workflows, and Data Operations leadership to identify known opportunities and drive change management Be a leader : Manage, develop and motivate a direct report, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment You will be successful in this role if you have: 6+ years in product management, technology consulting, or fund administration operations, including at least one operational or platform transformation you owned end to end. Deep experience in process evaluation, instrumentation, and optimization, with hands-on knowledge of how technology can be applied to drive productivity and quality. Demonstrated upskilling in AI and agentically-enabled processes, with continuous learning as a core motivation. Semi-technical product judgment: you can reason about accuracy and confidence thresholds, decide where automation is safe versus where a human stays in the loop, and write that logic clear enough for engineers to build. The seniority to own a transformation agenda and to direct a domain expert who supplies the depth on Chronograph’s internal processes. Comfort in private capital markets, or the ability to get fluent fast in how GPs and LPs exchange fund data. Strong analytical, project leadership and communication skills. Positive attitude, sense of humor and creativity. Even if you do not meet all criteria, we would still encourage you to apply or get in touch! Chronograph offers an entrepreneurial environment where you will be able to proactively identify opportunities to develop and strengthen our team. Why Join Chronograph? We value creativity, open communication, cutting edge technology, striving for excellence in all things – and having fun along the way. We want you to be happy here for the long-term. We offer: Flexible work arrangements (including in person / hybrid) Competitive salary Equity Participation 401k Unlimited and flexible vacation Generous health benefits Team week events in HQ (Brooklyn, NY) three times annually for all employees Fully-paid parental leave ...and more! Salary Range (dependent on experience) $150,000 — $200,000 USD
