Job description
Application deadline: Aug 20, 2026
For more than 15 years, Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) has been the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud computing platform. AWS offers over 100 fully featured services to millions of active customers around the world—including the fastest-growing startups, largest enterprises, and leading government agencies—to power their infrastructure. Our customers work with the world’s most talented and dedicated salesforce within AWS to understand and adopt the cloud to accelerate their own growth journeys.
Join us in inventing the tools that empower those sales people to be effective advisors and partners for our customers! The Sales Planning and Compensation (SPC) team is looking for a driven, curious, and passionate inventor to dive deep into our Seller’s lives to identify key areas for investment for SPC to build globally scaled products that help them be the worlds best salespeople.
In this Technical Product Management role, you will be tasked with deeply understanding the processes, complex systems ecosystem, and interpersonal networks that our salespeople have to navigate everyday to do their jobs at at AWS, and identify ways to simplify, accelerate, or otherwise force multiply their effectiveness. You will have a deep understanding of sales and sales operations and the various technologies that power them, and be able to bring those technologies (or new tech stacks you invent) to bear at scale to solve a wide range of problems. You understand the systems and technologies behind your product, their limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons for architectural decisions. For these products, you will write press releases that imagine what we would say to customers on the release date of a new product to make sure we build the right solutions. You are a simplifier. You determine when it is appropriate to build, improve an existing solution, or integrate existing features for a more cohesive end-to-end customer experience. You will be responsible for ideating, incubating, and iterating on these ideas until they are ready to present to leadership for review, acceptance, and funding- and then do it all over again.
Beyond a strong technical background and proven track record of product management, a successful candidate will have experience cutting through ambiguity and driving strategy through influencing executive leadership. We are looking for someone that is a self-starter, someone that approaches complex business questions with data and curiosity, and a person that dives below the surface to identify the root cause and "so what" rather than just superficial trends.
This team is committed to equity and inclusion of all potential team members, and puts a high value on diversity of thought, experience, background, and point of view. We prioritize psychological safety as a core prerequisite to true innovation and top performance, and strive to create an environment where every team member can bring their minds and hearts with them to work every day. We emphasize every team member being empowered to establish their own work/life harmony and believe doing so is crucial to happiness and success here. We have a very high bar, work hard, and strive to achieve great things; and do so through our humanity rather than in contention with it.
