Design and develop low-level system components, including compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Prepare detailed operating instructions and ensure all software standards are strictly met. Analyze software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within established time and cost constraints. Consult with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to obtain information on project limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces. Apply scientific analysis and mathematical models to modify software systems and predict design consequences. Coordinate software system installations and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications and performance standards are met.
