Job Title : Senior Software Engineer – Thought Machine Vault Core Duration: 6+ Months Location: Scottsdale, AZ – But its probably going to be remote Experience Level: Senior (5+ years of software engineering experience) Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with hands-on Thought Machine Vault Core experience to support a major core banking modernization initiative. This role will focus on designing, developing, integrating, and optimizing cloud-native banking solutions using Thought Machine’s Vault Core platform. The ideal candidate will bring strong Python development expertise, experience building and configuring Vault Core smart contracts, and a solid understanding of banking products, financial transactions, and modern cloud architecture. This is an opportunity to contribute to a next-generation banking platform, helping transform traditional banking infrastructure into a scalable, flexible, and API-driven ecosystem. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and implement banking solutions using Thought Machine Vault Core. • Develop, configure, and maintain Python-based Vault Core smart contracts supporting banking products such as deposits, checking, savings, and lending. • Build and integrate RESTful APIs to connect Vault Core with internal banking applications and third-party financial systems. • Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to translate banking requirements into technical solutions. • Support core banking modernization initiatives, including platform integration, data migration, testing, and deployment. • Develop scalable, cloud-native applications using Python, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes. • Troubleshoot complex technical issues involving banking transactions, account processing, integrations, and platform performance. • Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes to improve engineering efficiency. • Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, regulatory compliance, reliability, and performance standards. • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, technical documentation, and production support activities. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. • Hands-on experience with Thought Machine Vault Core is required. • Strong Python programming and backend development expertise. • Experience developing, configuring, or implementing Vault Core smart contracts. • Solid understanding of core banking concepts, including accounts, deposits, lending, interest calculations, and transaction processing. • Experience designing and integrating REST APIs and microservices. • Experience working with AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or other cloud environments. • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern software development practices. • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, architecture, and business teams.
