Job description

WHAT IS BOX? Box (NYSE:BOX) is the leader in Intelligent Content Management. Our platform enables organizations to fuel collaboration, manage the entire content lifecycle, secure critical content, and transform business workflows with enterprise AI. We help companies thrive in the new AI-first era of business. Founded in 2005, Box simplifies work for leading global organizations, including JLL, Morgan Stanley, and Nationwide. Box is headquartered in Redwood City, CA, with offices across the United States, Europe, and Asia. By joining Box, you will have the unique opportunity to continue driving our platform forward. Content powers how we work. It’s the billions of files and information flowing across teams, departments, and key business processes every single day: contracts, invoices, employee records, financials, product specs, marketing assets, and more. Our mission is to bring intelligence to the world of content management and empower our customers to completely transform workflows across their organizations. With the combination of AI and enterprise content, the opportunity has never been greater to transform how the world works together and at Box you will be on the front lines of this massive shift. WHY BOX NEEDS YOU Box is building the eventing backbone that powers our products and enables customers to integrate, automate, and scale on our platform. We’re looking for a Technical Product Manager to lead improvements in system efficiency, evolve our internal eventing and signaling capabilities, and help expose the right features externally. Your work will support the multitude of new products being built on the Box platform like extract and workflow, while impacting the bottom line by reducing costs and redundancy across the entire product infrastructure. You’ll partner closely with engineering teams in Redwood City and Poland and with our architecture group to define the roadmap, shape implementation, and deliver measurable platform outcomes. If you love diving into complex stacks, aligning diverse stakeholders, and shipping changes that move the performance needle, this role is for you. WHAT YOU’LL DO Own the roadmap for events, signaling, and asynchronous processing capabilities across internal and external use cases. Lead product discovery with internal consumer teams; translate requirements into clear specs, backlogs, and success metrics. Drive efficiency initiatives that reduce redundant data transfer and optimize compute usage with measurable impact. Partner with architects and engineering to make sound implementation decisions and deliver high-quality releases. Establish instrumentation, baselines, and reporting for platform performance, adoption, and reliability. Enable responsible externalization of eventing capabilities, including developer-facing documentation and guardrails. Coordinate cross-site execution (Redwood City, Poland), remove blockers, and keep stakeholders aligned on progress and trade-offs. Communicate vision and outcomes clearly to leadership and partner teams. WHO YOU ARE 5+ years in product management with experience on platform/infrastructure or large-scale distributed systems. Proven track record driving system efficiency (e.g., compute optimization, reducing data transfer, improving signaling) with quantified results. Comfortable engaging in technical discussions on messaging/event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing. Strong stakeholder management and “social presence”; able to influence across teams and geographies. Excellent written and verbal communication with crisp specs, prioritization, and metrics-driven decision-making. Bias toward implementation details and partnering deeply with engineering and architects. Experience working with globally distributed teams; able to manage time zones and handoffs. Nice to have: Background in consulting or enterprise platforms; familiarity with pub/sub systems, streaming pipelines, and any prior development experience.
