ABOUT PIVOTAL HEALTH
Pivotal Health is the leading technology platform that helps healthcare providers get paid fairly in an increasingly complex reimbursement landscape.
Today, many providers face persistent underpayment from health insurance companies, despite delivering high-quality care. While processes like IDR (Independent Dispute Resolution) were designed to promote fairness, they’re often administrative-heavy, time-consuming, and difficult to navigate without the right tools.
Pivotal Health combines software, data, and service into a seamlessly integrated, AI-driven platform that simplifies these complex reimbursement workflows. We help providers efficiently dispute underpaid claims, reduce administrative burden, and recover the reimbursement they’re entitled to; without adding more work to already stretched teams.
Our full-service IDR solution is just the starting point. We’re building solutions that enable providers to operate with clarity, control, and confidence across the reimbursement journey.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a Financial Data Analyst to turn data into clear insights that drive decisions across the business.
You'll sit on our Strategy & Analytics team and work closely with Finance, uncovering the signals that show how healthy the business really is. A core part of the role is making finance reporting scalable by replacing manual work with reliable, repeatable datasets and processes. You'll also support invoicing and other finance workflows, making sure the logic behind claims, payments, and fees is complete and accurate.
This role is a great fit for someone who loves using data to understand how a business actually works.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build dashboards that power the business: Create, maintain, and iterate on recurring Finance dashboards and reports, automating wherever possible and keeping underlying queries current.
- Validate and reconcile data: Ensure data in the database is correct by reconciling outputs across production systems, Salesforce, Rillet, Metabase, and financial reporting, then investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Own Finance’s core data models: Maintain data models used for invoicing, revenue reporting, collections, fee payments, refunds, and forecasting.
- Keep systems aligned: Coordinate changes across Salesforce, Rillet, production systems, and Finance reporting so IDs connect, each key input has a defined source of truth, and definitions and logic stay consistent.
- Build data quality controls: Monitor for data issues and set up controls and alerts that catch upstream breaks, logic changes, or unusual movements before they affect invoices or reporting.
WHO YOU ARE
- 4+ years of experience in a Financial Data Analyst, or Analytics role
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working with large datasets
- Experience building dashboards with BI tools (Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Experience working with financial data specifically, not just product/usage data
- Strong analytical instincts with the ability to identify trends and anomalies
- Comfortable translating ambiguous business questions into structured analysis
- Clear communicator who can explain insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Curious, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment
EXTRA CREDIT EXPERIENCE
- Experience supporting finance, operations or revenue teams with reporting
- Experience working in healthcare, healthcare payments, or another regulated environment
WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING HERE
We’re a collaborative, low-ego team on a mission to make healthcare reimbursement fairer for providers. While we primarily hire around our core hubs–Los Angeles and New York–we remain open to exceptional talent outside those regions. Remote and hybrid flexibility varies by role and team, and is outlined in each job description.
If you’re excited by solving complex problems and making a real-world impact, we’d love to hear from you.
Benefits Include:
- Competitive compensation, including equity
- Full health, dental, and vision coverage
- Retirement savings plan through 401(k)
- Flexible time off
- Opportunities for company-wide connection and events
Ready to Make an Impact?
We’re building something meaningful; and we want you on the team.
Bring your ideas, curiosity, and drive, and let’s transform healthcare reimbursement together.
