Senior Platform Engineer at GrowthLoop

Job description

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll build the backend systems that power GrowthLoop! The Platform team owns our query execution engine, our Journey orchestration logic, and our export delivery. This role is central to making GrowthLoop dependable as we grow, and you’ll have meaningful ownership of the systems our product and customers rely on every day. What You'll Do Build and operate backend services that move data through GrowthLoop, from warehouse queries to downstream systems. Improve how those services handle incoming events, execute queries, transform results, and coordinate delivery. Dig into customer problems, identify practical solutions, and test and measure whether those solutions work. Build and maintain APIs and integrations across major cloud data warehouses, and support the product’s move toward real-time capabilities. Participate in the platform team’s on-call rotation. You’ll respond to production issues, work with teammates to restore service, keep the right people informed, and use what you learn to improve reliability and make future incidents easier to resolve. Find and fix problems that affect correctness, speed, reliability, security, and ease of operation as the platform grows. Build shared components, automation, documentation, and tools that reduce repeated work and make common tasks easier. Help your fellow engineers do good work through clear code reviews, context sharing, mentoring, early communication, and follow-through. 🤖Leverage AI tools every day in your day-to-day work, and help to build GrowthLoop’s ML & agentic products. What You Bring 5+ years of production coding experience, with a strong foundation in Python, building and scaling services that help engineering teams do their best work. Experience in a startup or high-growth environment. Deep experience designing, building, and maintaining services, with end-to-end ownership including on-call. Experience with backend-heavy systems and distributed architectures, including working with GCP or AWS and building for reliability, security, and observability at scale. Lives on the bleeding edge - you wield frontier tech (e.g., AI agents) to amplify speed, quality, and impact. Thrives in ambiguity - you map constraints, surface hard questions early, and drive clarity. Embodies a learner’s mindset - you ask, absorb, and act fast. Exothermic in everything you do - you energize people, projects, and teams. About GrowthLoop GrowthLoop built the first composable CDP, helping marketers leverage live, first-party data from their cloud warehouse to launch highly targeted campaigns. That composable foundation gave way to the Compound Marketing Engine, an evolution of the composable CDP that drives compound growth by using agentic AI to accelerate the marketing cycle. Now, we’re building what comes next: an agentic system that uses causality data to find the actions that actually improve customer outcomes and gets smarter with every campaign cycle. Founder-led, we’re partnering with the world’s most innovative brands to close the loop between people, data, and AI. Enterprise marketing teams at Google, Costco, Ford, and Whirlpool, to name a few, choose GrowthLoop to launch smarter, more personalized marketing programs that compound growth with every campaign. About You Moving at our pace brings change, complexity, ambiguity, and a little chaos. You're comfortable being uncomfortable, and you'd rather own a hard problem than wait for a clean one. You have high agency: you find the gap and close it, and you turn decisions into outcomes, not more meetings. You measure your work by whether the customer actually wins, and you'd rather prove impact than claim it. You make the people around you sharper, and the team winning matters more to you than being right. You give direct, honest feedback (kindly), and you're curious about damn near everything, because time not spent learning feels wasted. We're a company of builders. You reach for the newest tools with good judgment and taste, using them to do better work at a scale that used to take a team. You thrive in a flat organization where leaders are deeply technical, hands-on, and close to the work. What We Offer The salary range for this role is $160,000-$175,000 CAD. Final base salary decisions will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors unique to each candidate, such as the individual’s skill set, depth of experience, and qualifications. Rewards See your work make an impact with some of the world’s most important brands. Spot bonuses for major milestones and product feature launches. Clear opportunities for career progression and cross-functional collaboration. Equity in GrowthLoop, so you share in the value you help create. Flexible, Remote-First Work Remote-first culture with team members and leaders across North America and beyond, with strong communities in New York, San Francisco, and Toronto. Flexible, goal-based work style. Flexible Time Off. Monthly company-wide Recharge Days to truly unplug. Annual home office stipend to support your workspace. Comprehensive Benefits Full health, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage for Canadian employees (fully employer-paid). 401(k) or RRSP program with a generous company match. Learn and Grow Quarterly hackathons focused on team passion projects. Annual professional development stipend. Work directly with our founders and a world-class executive team.
