Job description

Job Position : Senior Software Engineer (.NET C#) Reports to : Software Development Manager Department: Information Technology Classification : Exempt (Not Overtime Eligible) Company Overview PCI Group is the leading provider of mission-critical communications for industries where data security, precision, and compliance are paramount. As a fast-growing organization, we’re transforming our technology stack to support a best-in-class platform for secure, scalable, and compliant communications. Recently recognized as one of the 50 fastest-growing companies in Charlotte and on the Inc. 5000, PCI Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (.NET C#) to help drive this transformation. This is a Hybrid position. Job Summary PCI Group is modernizing its technology platform and building the foundation for future growth. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 10+ years of professional experience and strong .NET C# skills who is passionate about modern development practices, transforming legacy systems, and building scalable solutions that make a real impact. We build with AI. Our engineers use AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor every day to understand legacy code, refactor, write tests, and ship faster. We’re looking for someone who already works this way and holds AI-assisted work to the same standard as their own. You’ll work closely with our technical leadership to shape the next generation of our platform: refactoring and modernizing legacy applications, helping define future architecture, and building robust, automated pipelines. Your contributions will be highly visible. What We’re Looking For • Ownership. You take problems from unclear to solved, dig in on your own first, and see things through. • Speed with quality. You solve complex problems quickly without cutting corners, and your work holds up in production. • A great teammate. Cooperative, respectful, and someone who makes the people around you better. • 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong foundation in .NET C#. • Strong SQL skills, with hands-on experience writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting queries and stored procedures in production relational databases. • Hands-on, daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) in real production work, not just autocomplete. • The judgment to review, test, and take full ownership of AI-generated code. • Proven success modernizing applications and driving technical transformation. • Expertise building and managing CI/CD pipelines using modern tools and best practices. • Ability to work effectively within existing legacy systems while identifying and executing modernization opportunities. • Ability to work collaboratively across teams to deliver high-quality solutions. • A track record of thriving in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments. • Required participation in a rotating on-call schedule to support production systems. If you’re excited about leading modernization efforts, working at the leading edge of AI-assisted development, and helping build something lasting, we’d love to talk with you. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Regularly required to sit for long periods of time; frequent hearing and talking required. Extensive keyboarding. May be required to lift up to 40 lbs. Will comply with all current and future security and compliance requirements. Note: PCI Group retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of this position at any time.
