Job description

We are looking for a Research Scientist to develop cutting-edge social simulation techniques powered by large language models. This role focuses on building computational frameworks of human simulations that are (1) accurate and predictive of real-world behavior, judgements, and opinions, (2) representative of societal diversity, and (3) scalable: simulating individuals to large groups and societies. Key responsibilities include formulating metrics and validation methods, developing frameworks for multimodal environments, collaborating with product teams to drive research, and publishing high-impact research in top AI and social science venues. You will join an interdisciplinary team of domain experts, machine learning researchers, social scientists, and engineers to conduct cutting-edge research and advance the next generation of computational frameworks that simulate human social behavior at scale to advance societal health. Artificial intelligence will be one of humanity’s most transformative inventions. At Google DeepMind, we are a pioneering AI lab with exceptional interdisciplinary teams focused on advancing AI development to solve complex global challenges and accelerate high-quality product innovation for billions of users. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, ensuring safety and ethics are always our highest priority. We are pushing the boundaries across multiple domains. Our global teams offer diverse learning opportunities and varied career pathways for those driven to achieve exceptional results through collective effort.
