Job description

About Advantage Design Group Advantage Design Group, a multimedia production and software development firm, is the largest online orientations producer in North America. Advantage Orientation is the company's cloud-based solution currently deployed by over 400 higher education institutions in three countries. The platform invites engagement with interactive and media-rich content, transforming enrollment into an onboarding experience for students and staff. Advantage Design Group provides customized creative and technical services, including content development, branded interface design, video production, advanced programming, and unlimited training. The platform also features a robust administrative panel for managing content and tracking, monitoring, and analyzing user data. About the Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer who wants to stay close to the code and have a real say in how our next platform is designed and built. You’ll spend about 70% of your time writing C# and .NET code and 30% on architecture and design. The work includes multi-tenancy, data at scale, domain boundaries, messaging, performance, and the long-term evolution of the platform. You will also work with client technical teams, so you can hear the problems firsthand and build solutions that work across hundreds of organizations. Why Jacksonville? Grow your career at Advantage and make coastal Northeast Florida home. Jacksonville offers 22 miles of beaches, the nation's largest urban park system, the St. Johns River and a creative food and arts scene. Florida also has no personal state income tax, which means more of your paycheck stays with you. What You Do • Design and build production applications in C# and .NET. • Help shape the architecture of ADG’s next platform, including multi-tenancy, domain boundaries, messaging, and scalability. • Solve complex SQL Server performance problems and build APIs and client integrations. • Evaluate technical options and explain the tradeoffs behind your recommendations. • Work with client technical teams and contribute to the standards our engineering team uses. Required Experience • At least six years of professional C# and .NET development experience, including current hands-on production work. • Experience contributing to application or platform architecture. • Strong SQL Server skills and experience building APIs and integrations. • Ability to solve complex technical problems and explain your approach clearly. • Multi-tenant SaaS applications or Microsoft Azure. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field preferred. In lieu of a degree, candidates with at least six years of progressively responsible software engineering experience, including demonstrated expertise in software architecture and the design and development of scalable platforms, will be considered. How You Work The way you work with people matters as much as the technical decisions you make. In this role, we will be expected to: • Explain technical choices clearly to engineers, client teams, and colleagues outside engineering, and listen closely when they see a problem differently. • Look past the initial request to understand what a client needs and how a decision will affect the people using the platform. • Ask good questions, test assumptions, and weigh the long-term consequences before committing a solution. Preferred Experience • Event-driven systems, messaging, queues, or event buses. • Large-scale data environments or platform modernization. • Work directly with clients and partners with technical teams. Compensation and Benefits The salary is $140,000–$168,000, depending on experience. Benefits include a 401(k) match, profit sharing, health, dental and vision coverage, paid vacation, flex time, gym membership, and company-funded training. Work Location This full-time role is based in Jacksonville, Florida, and begins onsite so you can work closely with the team while learning about our platform and clients. Once you're established in the role, the schedule moves to hybrid, with two remote days per week. Interested in Joining Our Team? Apply Here!
