Job description

Zscaler (NASDAQ: ZS) accelerates digital transformation so customers can be more agile, efficient, resilient, and secure. The Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange platform protects thousands of customers from cyberattacks and data loss by securely connecting users, devices, and applications in any location. Distributed across 200+ public data centers globally and thousands of private sites at the edge, the SASE-based Zero Trust Exchange is the world’s largest in-line cloud security platform. We believe the future of work is Human + AI and are building an AI-native enterprise where human potential is amplified by machine intelligence to solve the world’s hardest security challenges. Driven by deep customer obsession, we are committed to the mission, outcome, and to each other. We bring these commitments to life through three core behaviors: ownership and collaboration, trust through outcomes and impact, and a challenge culture with ongoing feedback. Ready to make an impact at the company pioneering security transformation in the AI era? Join us at Zscaler. Role We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager – AI Protect to join our team. This is a hybrid role based in San Jose, reporting to the VP, Product Marketing – AI Security in the Marketing department. Enterprise security teams are navigating a two-front AI challenge: employees are adopting AI tools faster than security teams can track, creating data exposure risks and shadow AI sprawl — while adversaries are weaponizing AI to launch faster, harder-to-detect attacks. AI Protect is Zscaler's answer to both. As the Sr. PMM for AI Protect, you will own the go-to-market strategy, positioning, and field enablement for one of Zscaler's most strategically important and competitively active product lines — taking a sharp, differentiated story to market and equipping the global sales organization to win. This role is for someone who combines competitive sharpness with genuine customer obsession — someone who understands how security teams think, what keeps them up at night, and how to build the tools that give sellers an unfair advantage. What You'll Do (Role Expectations) Own Marketing Strategy and Execution: Drive positioning, messaging, and cross-functional launch execution for AI Protect; partner closely with Product Management to translate roadmap investments into compelling market narratives Develop Impactful Messaging: Create highly differentiated messaging across AI Protect’s core pillars: securing employee AI adoption (shadow AI, AI DLP, GenAI visibility) and defending against AI-powered threats (adversarial AI, AI-driven attacks) Build Deep Persona Understanding: Establish a profound grasp of the multi-persona buying center—including Data Security owners, SecOps teams, Risk/Compliance officers, and CISOs—and develop tailored content for each Lead Competitive Intelligence: Monitor the competitive landscape, synthesize actionable insights, and actively enable the field to confidently differentiate Zscaler's offerings and win deals Drive Sales Enablement Programs: Build robust field tools—including battlecards, objection handlers, and targeted sales plays—that equip account teams to navigate complex buying cycles and accelerate revenue Who You Are (Success Profile) You are relentlessly curious. The AI threat landscape moves faster than any analyst report. New attack techniques, new tools, new buyer anxieties — you stay ahead of all of it, form your own point of view, and bring that perspective to everything you build. You have the courage to be bold. You write competitive content with conviction. You take positions others hedge around and make sharp, arguable claims — then back them up — because that's what earns the attention of buyers who've heard every security vendor's story before. You care deeply. Whether it's a battlecard or a keynote narrative, you hold yourself to a standard of excellence. You believe precision builds trust — with buyers, sellers, and your team — and that sloppy work is the fastest way to lose credibility in a competitive market. You thrive in ambiguity and act like an owner — moving between strategy and execution with urgency and integrity, and holding yourself accountable to outcomes, not just outputs. You are a high-trust collaborator. Ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You build trust through candor, clarity, and a genuine commitment to shared outcomes. What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications) Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a proven history of integrating new technologies to enhance daily workflows and augment problem-solving 5+ Years of Specialized Marketing Experience: Requires 5+ years of experience in product marketing, competitive intelligence, or technical marketing for enterprise security, cloud, or SaaS, paired with a BS/MS in a STEM, Marketing, or a related field. Contested Market Positioning: Proven ability to develop sharp, highly differentiated messaging and competitive positioning for B2B security products across technical and leadership buying personas in active, contested markets. Impactful Sales Enablement: Demonstrated experience building robust sales enablement programs and field tools—such as battlecards, targeted sales plays, and persona-specific assets—that drive measurable field impact. Elite Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills that display absolute precision on the page and complete confidence on the stage. What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) Experience in marketing or competitive positioning for data security, CASB, SSE, or AI security — with familiarity across vendors such as Netskope, Palo Alto, CrowdStrike, or Microsoft Familiarity with AI data security, AI aseet discovery, AI access security, or AI runtime security — and the ability to connect these capabilities to real security operations and data governance challenges A track record of building field enablement content that sales teams actually use — sharp, credible, and built around how buyers think and buy #LI-Hybrid #LI-DS9 Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level.
