Business Development Representative

• Own outbound. Build and run targeted outreach across phone, email and LinkedIn to open first conversations with owners, operators and asset managers.
• Qualify hard. Run structured discovery and judge fit against our ICP. We would rather you disqualify fast than pad the calendar.
• Nurture. Follow up with something worth reading and a clear next step.
• Hand off clean. Partner with our AEs so nothing drops between the first conversation and the deal.
• Keep the pipeline honest and log activity and notes accurately in our CRM.
• Surface market insight. You hear the objections before anyone else, and you bring them back so we sharpen messaging and targeting.
• Work the conferences. Multifamily runs on events. Engage leads before and after so they turn into real pipeline.
• Get 10x as much done as you could have before AI.
• Earn the AE seat.
• Hunger: you want to be first-in and last-out, learning the ropes of one of life's most important skills: selling.
• A love for winning. You have likely competed at a high level before, in sports or something similar.
• Resilience with a short memory. You learn from losses, then shrug them off.
• You've been described as charismatic, a ball of energy, or similar.
• 0 to 2 years of experience.
• New York, in office.
• A story of how you mastered something when the odds were against you.
• A live call where you cold-call Grotto's co-founders.
• A written prospecting exercise where you walk us through your sequence.
• References, including one person who has managed you.
• Early sales hire at a company where go-to-market is being built in real time, with the CEO and GTM leaders coaching you directly.
• Competitive base and OTE, plus meaningful equity.
• The clearest possible path to an AE seat at an inflecting vertical AI company. We would rather promote you than hire above you.
