Job description

About Parakeet Healthcare is long overdue for modernization. Parakeet Health is a healthcare-native AI platform that automates patient communication and front-office workflows across the entire patient care journey, from scheduling to follow-up and everything in between. Our AI voice agents answer patient calls, book appointments, refill prescriptions, process faxes, and run outreach over SMS, calls, and email — work that today eats hours of front-desk time every day. Our platform is trusted by national medical groups that operate over 700 clinic locations nationwide, including Talkspace, 5 of the top 10 dermatology groups, primary care, and multi-specialty groups. The Role We're hiring our first technical recruiter who can own hiring end-to-end. You'll work directly with the founders to define what great talent looks like, then stand up the systems to find, attract, and close those people consistently. “Fixing” healthcare will require the brightest, most ambitious yet empathetic engineering minds. We’re looking for someone who shares this high bar. Someone who is motivated, rather than daunted, by the challenge of finding exceptional talent. The ideal recruiter is scrappy, relentless, experiments with unconventional channels, metrics-driven, and overall just good vibes . You'll be the first time candidates hear from Parakeet so we're looking for someone to represent the company well. What You'll Own • End-to-End technical recruiting. Sourcing, outreach, screening, coordination, offers, and closing. • Candidate experience. Every touchpoint, from the subject line on the first email to day one in the office, should feel like Parakeet Health: personal, thoughtful, responsive. • Talent brand and community. Organize technical talks and private dinners. Craft social media posts and thoughtful outreach to attract the best talent. • Interview design and calibration. You’ll partner with the founders to keep the bar high and the process tight. • Closing strategy. You’ll build the closing plan with the hiring manager well before the offer goes out. • Operating with AI. You have a clear point of view on where AI sourcing, drafting, and automation tools create real leverage, and where the human still wins. • ATS discipline and metrics. You set the standard for data integrity and you'll make decisions based on the data (e.g., response rates, A/B testing copy). • People operations. Because we’re early, the role will also include people ops like onboarding, employee experience, and team events. What We're Looking For • 5–7 years of technical recruiting with meaningful early-stage startup exposure (seed through Series B). • A mix of agency and in-house backgrounds. You've built pipelines from scratch, not just managed inbound flow. • Proven track record hiring strong engineers across a range of profiles: backend, AI/ML, infra, full-stack, data science. • High agency, low ego. You don't wait for perfect instructions. You see a gap and fix it. • Excellent written and verbal communicator. Concise, personal, persuasive. • Hands-on fluency with modern AI sourcing tools . You know what saves real time and what's hype, and you invest in tuning your filters rather than letting automated outreach run unchecked. • Genuine curiosity about engineering and healthcare. You can hold a coherent conversation with a senior engineer about what they do, what they care about, and why it matters. You’re passionate about improving patients’ lives and can evangelize the mission. • Strong closer. You navigate competing offers, comp negotiations, and ambivalent candidates with calm and a plan. • Operating discipline to run 6+ searches in parallel without dropping details. Your ATS is always clean. Location This role is in-person, 5 days a week at our downtown San Francisco office (by Montgomery BART). We believe having our recruiter on-site is essential for understanding our culture, meeting candidates who visit the office, and staying deeply connected to the teams you're hiring for. Why Join You'll be the first recruiter at a company that intends to build one of the best engineering teams in vertical healthcare AI to improve the patient experience navigating the healthcare system. We're not just building another B2B SaaS app, we're helping every person, child, parent, and grandparent out there. After all, everyone is a customer of the US healthcare system. You’ll set the bar, the process, and the brand. The work you do in the next 12 months will compound for years. A few other reasons: • Make an impact on improving the patient care journey • Collaborative team • High ownership, low bureaucracy • Work at the intersection of AI and healthcare If you want to own a function end-to-end, build something durable, and watch a team you helped assemble ship product that patients actually rely on, this is the role for you. Benefits • Excellent health, dental, and vision insurance (we’re a healthcare company after all) • Annual Fitness stipend 💪 • Free dinner • Gourmet snacks and specialty coffee beans from Seattle • Unlimited PTO • 401(k) • Relocation stipend
