Job description

Rivet is a tax prep firm, designed to make tax season less taxing. We're an AI-enabled corporate & personal tax prep firm, supporting 1,000+ of the most innovative founders and their companies — including Cursor, Cognition Labs, and ModRetro. We work with hundreds of executives, HNWIs, and venture capitalists as part of our corporate offering, combining corporate tax, personal taxes, R&D credits, and bookkeeping in one firm to make tax season take as little of our clients' time as possible, without leaving any tax savings on the table. We're growing quickly, well-funded, and backed by XYZ Ventures, Susa Ventures, and Haystack Ventures, alongside operators from Ramp, Stripe, Deel, and others. And while we may have just gotten started a little over two years ago, this isn't our first rodeo: • Nick Abouzeid (cofounder & CEO) ran three growth teams at Ramp and previously led marketing at MainStreet ($3M → $15M ARR in 2 years) • Kyle Christenson (cofounder & Head of Tax) spent six years auditing at the IRS, then joined MainStreet to handle their most complex claims Why this role is different We're not just rethinking how tax is done — we're rebuilding it from the ground up. Federal and state tax filings, R&D credit claims, bookkeeping, and ongoing state-by-state compliance, all rolled up into one centralized, efficient platform for both corporate finance teams and individuals alike. Every step of a client's onboarding and support is designed to take as little of their time as possible, with all-inclusive fixed pricing for everything our clients need year-round. We're available year-round via email, Slack, text, and our own Rivet dashboard, which sits between our clients and our tax prep team, telling clients what we need from them at every step. On the back-end, we delegate tasks for every active return to make sure we don't drop the ball. Most sales orgs optimize for pipeline spreadsheets and call scripts. We optimize for impact: • Own the top of funnel – research, target, and engage new accounts; run crisp discovery calls; qualify real opportunities; and book high-value meetings for the sales team. You'll be backed by automated, proprietary, always-on growth channels that keep your pipeline full. • Lead with substance, not slogans – open doors by showing prospects how we cut hours of manual work and slash compliance risk. No hype, no "digital transformation" buzzwords — just clear business outcomes. • Collaborate at the source – work hand-in-hand with founders, CFOs, product, and engineering to share market insights that shape the roadmap every single day. • Quality > vanity metrics – activity targets matter, but we celebrate meetings that convert into sticky revenue. Our 100% net-revenue-retention track record means you're teeing up deals that last. What you'll do • Fill the funnel. Identify venture-backed startups, mid-market and SMB businesses, and HNWIs who are eager to pay for premium tax and bookkeeping support across corporate & personal. • Uncover pain fast. Qualify leads either live or async to uncover why clients are looking for different or better support, size the ROI, and hand off detailed notes that help AEs craft spot-on proposals. • Help us build our Growth Engine. You'll join our 4-person sales team in Miami, led by a former Ramp AE, working hand-in-hand with Nick (CEO, ex-Ramp Growth) to scale our already-working affiliate and partnership channels. You'll test outbound sequences, codify event playbooks, and spin up new referral channels as we move beyond founder-led sales. • Feed real-time customer insights into product and engineering — help shape what we build next. • Forecast with rigor. Maintain accurate CRM hygiene and weekly revenue projections. • Represent Rivet at virtual & in-person events , dinners, and conferences (if they help you with your pipeline) — we don't do events for brand marketing, we tie them to real-world outcomes. Miami preferred. Our sales team is based in Miami, and we want this hire there too — selling is a team sport, and we have real data to show that being in the same room (and at the same dinners, events, and client meetings) compounds. We'll help with relocation if you're not local. Open to exceptional remote candidates in the right time zone, but the bar is higher. What makes you a fit • Direct sales or customer-facing experience — inside or outside of sales • Experience working directly with HNW individuals, founders, or VC-backed operators • Eagerness to learn the art of prospecting, selling, and closing • Dedication to tracking and improving performance and efficiency on a daily basis • Sense of entrepreneurship: a self-starter with a high sense of urgency and ability to work within undefined processes Nice to haves • Already in Miami, or excited to move • Background in tax, accounting, or selling tax-adjacent products (eg. fund administration, bookkeeping, tax software, etc.) • Interest in helping shape the future of a firm that treats tax as product-first What we offer We're building a world-class team to deliver a world-class experience — and we believe in compensating accordingly: • Generous cash comp with meaningful equity upside • Miami-based team with full relocation support, plus twice-yearly company offsites • A client base that values your time and pays for the premium experience • A tech-enabled prep system built for speed, accuracy, and delight — by you, for you • Support from a global team of full-time preparers to free you up for what matters most: supporting our clients through the difficult and tough questions they face day to day

Why this role is different
We're not just rethinking how tax is done — we're rebuilding it from the ground up.
Most sales orgs optimize for pipeline spreadsheets and call scripts. We optimize for impact:

Quality > vanity metrics – activity targets matter, but we celebrate meetings that convert into sticky revenue. Our 100% net-revenue-retention track record means you're teeing up deals that last.
Fill the funnel. Identify venture-backed startups, mid-market and SMB businesses, and HNWIs who are eager to pay for premium tax and bookkeeping support across corporate & personal.
Uncover pain fast. Qualify leads either live or async to uncover why clients are looking for different or better support, size the ROI, and hand off detailed notes that help AEs craft spot-on proposals.
Feed real-time customer insights into product and engineering — help shape what we build next.
Forecast with rigor. Maintain accurate CRM hygiene and weekly revenue projections.
Represent Rivet at virtual & in-person events , dinners, and conferences (if they help you with your pipeline) — we don't do events for brand marketing, we tie them to real-world outcomes.
What makes you a fit

Experience working directly with HNW individuals, founders, or VC-backed operators
Eagerness to learn the art of prospecting, selling, and closing

Already in Miami, or excited to move
Background in tax, accounting, or selling tax-adjacent products (eg. fund administration, bookkeeping, tax software, etc.)
Interest in helping shape the future of a firm that treats tax as product-first
