About Base AI
Base AI is building the AI Customer Growth Platform for modern B2B companies.
Our platform helps companies orchestrate customer engagement by contextualizing customer signals into growth actions across the entire customer lifecycle - from onboarding and adoption to expansion, advocacy, and retention.
AI is leveling the playing field for feature development, creating new moats and go-to-market frameworks. We believe, more than ever before, that customer & product experience and value creation are becoming significant differentiators. We help our customers gain that differentiation.
AI is also fundamentally changing how high-performing teams operate. We are building Base and our marketing function to be AI-native from the ground up.
About the Role
We’re looking for our second marketing hire: an AI-native, hands-on growth marketer who will work closely with our Marketing Director to help build the next version of Base’s marketing engine.
This is not a narrowly defined demand generation, content, or marketing operations role. You will own initiatives across the full marketing lifecycle - from identifying an opportunity and developing the message to building the campaign, launching it, measuring the results, and improving the underlying system.
You’ll use AI, automation, and data as fundamental parts of how you work. That might mean building an AI-assisted content engine, automating campaign research and execution, identifying insights across customer conversations, personalizing campaigns by persona or account, or prototyping a new workflow without waiting for technical resources.
We’re not looking for someone who simply uses ChatGPT to complete traditional marketing tasks faster. We’re looking for someone who can rethink how the work should be done - combining strong marketing judgment with AI, automation, experimentation, and exceptional execution.
Base sells multiple products that serve various GTM audiences. You will help us establish a new market category, sharpen our positioning, generate a qualified pipeline, launch new capabilities, and demonstrate through our own marketing what an AI-first customer growth company looks like.
This role is ideal for a builder who can turn ambiguity into an experiment, an experiment into a repeatable playbook, and a successful playbook into measurable growth.
What You’ll Do
Help Grow the AI-Native Marketing Engine
Design and implement AI-assisted workflows for market research, content development, campaign creation, personalization, distribution, analysis, and reporting.
Build reusable prompts, automations, agents, templates, and operating systems that increase the speed, quality, and consistency of our marketing.
Use customer conversations, CRM data, product information, and market signals to uncover insights and turn them into marketing actions.
Identify repetitive or manual work that can be automated, then build and improve the relevant workflows.
Document successful systems so they can be reused and scaled across the marketing function.
Maintain a high standard of accuracy, originality, brand quality, and responsible AI use.
Drive Pipeline and Growth
Own integrated campaigns end-to-end, including audience selection, insight, offer, messaging, creative, execution, distribution, measurement, and iteration.
Run experiments across personas and channels, including organic, paid, events, webinars, lifecycle programs, and outbound-assisted campaigns.
Partner closely with Sales to turn marketing engagement into qualified conversations, opportunities, and revenue.
Analyze performance, identify what is and is not working, and continuously improve campaign results.
Create Category-Defining Content
Turn customer conversations, product knowledge, market research, and internal expertise into compelling content and campaigns.
Create high-quality and differentiated content across LinkedIn, blogs, email, website & landing pages, webinars, campaign assets, and sales enablement materials.
Apply strong editorial judgment to ensure AI increases the quality and originality of our work rather than producing generic content.
Support SEO and AEO initiatives that improve Base’s visibility across traditional search and AI answer engines.
Marketing Systems and Measurement
Work hands-on across HubSpot, Salesforce, Webflow, Claude, analytics, enrichment, Clay, automation, design, video, and GTM / AI platforms.
Improve lead capture, routing, lifecycle stages, data quality, attribution, and the connection between marketing activity and revenue.
Build clear reporting that helps us understand what is generating engagement, qualified pipeline, and revenue.
Prototype solutions using LLMs/AI, no-code platforms, APIs, AI agents, and lightweight automation where appropriate.
Become fluent in Base’s own platform and identify opportunities to use it within our marketing motion.
Ship Cross-Functional GTM Initiatives
Partner with Product, Sales, and Customer Success on product launches, messaging, enablement, expansion campaigns, and customer stories.
Support webinars, community, virtual programs, field events, and Base’s owned events as integrated pipeline and customer-engagement initiatives.
Coordinate campaign execution across people, platforms, channels, and geographies.
Work daily with colleagues in EMEA and the United States.
Operate effectively in a fast-moving startup where priorities change, and individual ownership matters.
Who You Are
You have at least three years of hands-on B2B technology marketing experience.
You have personally owned campaigns from initial idea through execution, measurement, and improvement.
You have experience across several areas of marketing, such as demand generation, growth, content, product marketing, lifecycle marketing, marketing operations, or startup marketing.
You can show examples of how you used AI or automation to materially improve or redesign a marketing workflow—not simply generate copy.
You have strong writing, messaging, and editorial judgment and can recognize when AI-generated work is generic, inaccurate, or off-brand.
You are comfortable working directly in systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Webflow, and modern analytics, design, and automation platforms.
You can work with data, enrichment tools, no-code systems, APIs, or AI agents to solve practical marketing problems. Coding experience is helpful but not required.
You understand how marketing contributes to qualified pipeline and revenue—not only leads, traffic, or content output.
You are highly curious, resourceful, and comfortable learning unfamiliar systems quickly.
You don’t wait for perfect instructions. You develop a point of view, build the first version, learn from the results, and improve it.
You enjoy moving between strategy, creative work, systems, and hands-on execution.
You can manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality, accountability, or follow-through.
You are comfortable working in a global startup environment with frequent change, complexity, and high expectations.
Most importantly, you care about quality, ownership, speed, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 6–12 months, you will have:
Established a repeatable campaign engine that moves quickly from insight to launch to measurable learning.
Launched integrated campaigns that contribute qualified pipeline across Base’s priority personas and use cases.
Reduced the manual effort required to research, produce, launch, and analyze campaigns through AI and automation.
Built a scalable content system that turns customer and market intelligence into differentiated, multi-channel content.
Improved campaign reporting, attribution, and the connection between marketing programs and revenue.
Helped establish a clear, differentiated, and credible position for Base and the AI Engagement OS category.
Created documented workflows that help a small marketing team operate with the output and sophistication of a much larger organization.
How We Work
This is a hands-on role with meaningful ownership. You’ll have room to experiment, but you’ll also be accountable for turning ideas into shipped work and shipped work into measurable results.
We operate in a hybrid model, with at least two days per week in our Palo Alto office.
As part of the interview process, candidates will be asked to walk us through an AI-enabled marketing workflow they have built or meaningfully redesigned. We care more about the problem, judgment, process, and measurable impact than the specific tools used.
