Job Description
Azure Data Architect
Contract (Part Time -20 hours per week)
Remote (United States-West coast to Central preferred)
15+ years experience
Responsibilities
Pipeline and integration runtime review; activity and DIU tuning; trigger and schedule rationalization; Synapse and Analysis Services sizing and pause schedules; Power BI Embedded capacity fit behind Active Insights.
Hot and idle database identification; elastic pool consolidation; vCore, DTU and serverless fit; SQL reserved capacity input to the commitment plan; backup retention; zone redundant SQL options for DR.
Must have
ADF, Synapse, Analysis Services, Power BI Embedded capacity management; cost tuning of data pipelines.
Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance performance and cost tuning; elastic pools; Query Store.
Good To Have
Log Analytics table plans (Basic and Auxiliary) and retention; Application Insights sampling; diagnostic settings by environment; Sentinel ingestion review; App Service plan and container sizing for Fortify, Certified and ephemeral environments.
Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights, Sentinel cost management; App Service and AKS operations.
