Job description
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
In this role, you will join a team developing scalable infrastructure to expedite and simplify Google Home Platform (GHP) development and testing for first-party and third-party developers, as the rapid expansion of the GHP has resulted in a more complex matrix of device software, services, and apps each year. You will address this complex problem space, as this project will use cutting-edge technologies such as AI Agents and virtualization to simulate the entire smart home on-the-fly, enabling software iterations on GHP in seconds without the need for any physical hardware. Come join us on this journey! The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
