Job description

ABOUT AIRWALLEX Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 675,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own. We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,700 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. Read our operating principles airwallex.com to see it in full. HOW YOU'LL MAKE IMPACT As the Senior Manager, Startup Marketing, you'll own the end-to-end, integrated go-to-market strategy and execution for attracting, nurturing, and driving pipeline from high-growth startups. You'll build community among founders, VCs, and accelerators, scale startup marketing across physical and digital channels, activate influencers and advocates, convert ecosystem awareness into pipeline, and use data to prove impact. - Own the go-to-market strategy, execution, and launch of integrated, multi-touch demand-generation campaigns tied directly to pipeline and revenue targets. - Build Airwallex's presence within the startup ecosystem by developing partnerships with VCs, accelerators, and founders, and creating high-impact experiences such as founder dinner series, VC community events, and tactical workshops. - Scale the startup digital engine across owned and paid channels, including lifecycle marketing, events, LinkedIn, founder newsletters, Reddit, and YouTube. - Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with startup influencers, operators, and high-profile founders to amplify the Airwallex story and drive organic network effects. - Build and deploy automated email nurture programs and targeted outbound campaigns that convert ecosystem awareness into active program interest. - Measure performance, prioritize spend, and report on funnel and pipeline impact to leadership. This role is based in San Francisco WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR ESSENTIALS - 10+ years of growth or startup marketing experience, with a proven track record in full-stack B2B marketing, growth marketing, or ecosystem management and deep roots in startup, accelerator, or venture capital landscapes. - Strong hands-on experience spanning physical community building, including events and dinners, and digital growth mechanics, including integrated campaigns and email nurtures. - An entrepreneurial, high-initiative mindset with a bias for action, comfort operating with ambiguity, and the grit to build new programs from scratch. - A commercial mindset with a history of owning the full funnel and direct accountability for KPIs such as program enrollments, measurable pipeline, and revenue metrics. - Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the executive presence to engage confidently with VC partners, startup founders, and industry influencers. PREFERRED - Experience driving startup acquisition or developer relations within fintech, payments, or high-growth B2B SaaS. - An established network within the Silicon Valley, NYC, or broader North American startup and venture capital ecosystems. - Advanced proficiency with modern marketing technology stacks, such as Salesforce, Marketo, Outreach, and analytics tools, to independently launch, track, and optimize campaigns. YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF - You're comfortable owning the roadmap yourself. - You own the outcome and you don't wait for permission to fix what's broken. - You're excited by a category that hasn't been won yet, and want to be early enough to shape it. - You communicate clearly and directly across cultures, and you're thoughtful about how context shifts meaning across borders. - You connect dots across functions and hold the big picture without losing grip on the details. WHO YOU ARE We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory. LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR TEAM Marketing at Airwallex is a growth function, not a support one. The brief is ambitious: build the brand to match the platform, well-established in some markets and still emerging in others. This team leads across product marketing, brand, demand generation, and regional GTM: understanding what our platform actually does, then building the stories that make it land with real businesses, not just buyers on paper. They work closely with product, sales, and leadership, so the link between marketing activity and business outcome is direct. If you want to build a global brand through insight, sharp positioning, and creative that earns attention and trust, this is where marketing has real leverage.
