Senior Director, Platform Prioritization & Delivery at Mission Lane

Job description

Mission Lane is combining the power of data, technology, and exceptional service to pave a clear way forward for millions of people on the path to financial success. By attracting top talent and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we’re enabling people to unlock real financial progress. Sound like a mission you can get behind? We're looking for a Senior Director to own cross-functional prioritization and delivery across Mission Lane, reporting to the SVP, Product, Platform, & Delivery The impact you'll make: Every initiative Mission Lane ships – a better payment plan, a faster credit decision, a clearer way to see progress -- moves a customer forward. None of it ships in a vacuum. It depends on the right team picking it up at the right time, with the capacity to see it through, without adversely affecting another initiative. The system that sorts through those prioritization decisions is yours to run. You’ll manage the framework and facilitate the discussions that decide what goes first when domains are moving at different speeds and carrying different risks. You'll often be bringing a room full of different perspectives to a shared answer. This function is new at Mission Lane, and the framework for it is only partly in place. You're the one who fills in what's missing and runs it day to day, building the credibility that earns trust and adherence. What you'll own: A team of four Delivery Managers, each embedded in a different focus area (Collections, Data & AI/Model Process, Portfolio Management, and Acquisitions), including their coaching, growth, and workload balance The prioritization tracker as Mission Lane's single source of truth for what's in flight, at what stage, and why, kept accurate enough that leaders trust it without double-checking Weekly prioritization meetings, MBRs, and QBRs, run with enough rigor to hold up under executive scrutiny Company-wide delivery standards, frameworks, and tooling that initiative teams actually adopt in their day-to-day work Cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Credit, Marketing, Finance, and Legal/Compliance, clearing blockers and resolving trade-offs before they stall delivery Post-initiative retrospectives that produce concrete changes to how the next initiative gets planned and delivered You'll thrive in this role if: You've led delivery inside an organization with genuine cross-functional complexity, spanning multiple teams and stakeholder groups. You've built a prioritization or delivery process yourself, and can explain the tradeoffs in it clearly enough that someone new to it can follow the logic. Your background is in product, program, or technical delivery leadership, with the credibility to work as a peer with engineering leads and data scientists. You build just enough process to protect capacity and speed, no more. You have direct conversations with senior stakeholders when priorities conflict, and you know how to bring a room to a decision. Minimum qualifications: A proven track record of building processes and oversight to drive improved speed to impact across an organization. A proven track record leading and developing a team focused on organizational effectiveness which could include Delivery Managers, Program Managers, or similarly scoped delivery leaders Experience working in a highly regulated and technical environment, with demonstrated ability to shape functional strategy and operate with a high degree of autonomy Experience owning enterprise-level portfolio intake, prioritization, and execution tracking end to end, at a company operating at meaningful scale and complexity A demonstrated ability to align senior and executive stakeholders across functions such as Product, Engineering, Finance, Credit, and Legal around shared priorities without relying on direct authority Deep working knowledge of modern delivery methodologies and the judgment to adapt them to an organization's actual stage of maturity as well as rapidly changing technology Experience structuring and running core enterprise operating cadences, such as weekly prioritization meetings, MBRs, and QBRs, that senior leadership relies on for accurate decision-making Hands-on experience with modern portfolio and workflow tooling (e.g., Jira, Jira Align, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet), including evaluating and administering these tools at an organizational level A background that includes hiring, coaching, and developing direct reports Ability to travel ~4+ times per year for high quality in person collaboration Preferred qualifications: Direct experience in consumer lending, credit cards, or another regulated financial services environment, with working knowledge of compliance, credit risk, and legal considerations that shape delivery timelines Experience scaling delivery governance and team structures inside a fast-growing, mid-sized organization moving through a similar stage of process maturity Expertise configuring enterprise-grade portfolio tools (e.g., Jira Align, Dragonboat, Productboard) to connect strategic goals directly to team execution Experience building portfolio dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to track delivery velocity, resource utilization, and realized business impact Compensation: Annual full-time starting base salary range: $196,000 - $243,000 This role is eligible for additional compensation in the forms of participation in our annual incentive and equity programs. Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role. Mission Lane also offers a comprehensive benefits plan, which includes paid time off, 401(k) match, a monthly wellness stipend, health/dental/vision insurance options, disability coverage, paid parental leave, flexible spending account (for childcare and healthcare), life insurance, and a remote-first work environment. About Mission Lane: Founded in December 2018, Mission Lane is a purpose-driven fintech company based in the U.S., with headquarters in Richmond, Virginia. It all started with a realization: nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S. doesn’t have access to a clear line of credit. Most traditional credit card companies either overlook or overcharge this group because they have less-than-perfect credit scores or no scores at all. We decided this just wouldn’t do. In partnership with our sponsor banks, we offer credit cards under the Mission Lane brand name, with better, clearer terms, and a more refined customer experience than the alternatives available to people working hard to improve their credit. To date, over four million consumers have chosen Mission Lane, earning high customer ratings on Credit Karma for its market segment and industry leading Net Promoter scores. Mission Lane has cumulatively raised over $600 million of equity from leading investors, including Invus Opportunities, QED Investors, LL Funds, funds affiliated with Oaktree Capital Management, and other leading investors. Our commitment to a workplace built on respect and dignity is guided by our core value of Unity. We believe that everyone plays a vital role in our shared purpose, and we actively cultivate an environment where all individuals have the opportunity to do their best work. By fostering a culture of empathy and collaboration, we create a strong sense of belonging and support for every team member. Mission Lane is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other protected status. Mission Lane provides reasonable accommodations to applicants who need them for medical or religious reasons, as required by law. Applicants can initiate an accommodation request by contacting peopleexperience@missionlane.com . Mission Lane is not sponsoring new applicant employment authorization and please, no third-party recruiters. Application Integrity: Our cardholders trust us with their financial well-being, and this trust starts with the integrity of the people on our team. We're looking for team members who share our dedication to transparency and truth. Please verify that the information in your application is accurate and complete. Providing any information to Mission Lane that is not completely truthful at any point during the application or hiring process may result in removal from the hiring process, disqualification from future opportunities, withdrawal of an offer or other sanctions for candidates and, in addition for employees, disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
