Job description

About Alaffia & Our Mission Every year, U.S. health plans lose billions to improper payments and administrative waste. That wasted spending ultimately trickles down across the healthcare ecosystem, driving up costs for plans, providers, and patients alike. We’re here to change that paradigm. Alaffia is a new kind of claims operations partner for health plans. Using expert clinicians and transparent AI, we deliver deeper insights, smarter automation, and consistently better outcomes across the entire lifecycle of claims. With Alaffia, health plans can cut wasted spending more effectively than ever — and provide their members the most affordable care. We’re a high-growth, venture-backed Series B healthtech startup based in NYC and are actively scaling our company. Join us in helping to build a healthcare system that works better for everyone. This role is onsite 4 days/week based out of our SoHo office in NYC. About the Role We’re seeking a Technical Recruiter to join our growing Talent Acquisition team. You will be dedicated to our EPD org, with a focus on AI and key engineering roles across security, product, and infrastructure. You’ll own full-cycle recruiting for 4-6 unique roles at any given time, dually focused on bringing candidates through to offer in streamlined interview processes while also building talent pipelines for long-term growth. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in early/growth stage startups and knows how to balance speed with quality when filling volume roles with strict time-to-fill requirements (with an unwavering focus on delivering a great candidate experience). What You'll be Doing • Manage 4-6 open requisitions simultaneously across our EPD organization, with a focus on AI/ML and specialized technical roles beyond traditional software engineering, including security, infrastructure, and product • Own the entire recruiting process from intake to offer acceptance: sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, managing feedback, and closing candidates • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, ideal candidate profiles, and urgency levels, while advising on role prioritization, market realities, and expectations for niche and in-demand technical talent • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs, including hard-to-find AI, security, and infrastructure talent • Leverage multiple channels including job boards, employee referrals, networking, technical communities, and direct outreach to reach passive candidates in specialized fields • Participate in (and at times lead) recruiting-related events (both virtually and in-person) • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in our ATS (we use Kula, but experience with any of Greenhouse, Ashby, or Gem is advantageous) • Provide regular updates to hiring managers and Recruiting lead on pipeline status, bottlenecks, and forecast Who You Are • 6+ years of full-cycle tech recruiting experience (in-house) in high-growth tech-focused organizations • Proven experience recruiting for AI/ML and specialized technical roles beyond traditional software engineering, such as security, infrastructure/platform, and technical product management • Digital health or healthtech recruiting experience is preferred • An understanding of the broader talent market trends, especially the rapidly evolving AI space, and can speak credibly to technical candidates, including understanding how the roles, skills, and compensation differ across AI, security, and infrastructure • Experience with deadline-driven recruiting, operating with urgency to fill roles from open to offer within 30-45 days • Strong sourcing skills with demonstrable experience building pipelines from scratch, including for niche, passive talent pools • Experience with modern sourcing tools (Pin, Juicebox, etc.) Interview Process • Recruiter/Hiring Manager Screen (45 min) • Cross-functional Interview (30 minutes) • Panel Round • Stakeholder Interview (30 minutes) • Peer Interview (30 minutes) • Offer Timeline: We aim to complete the process within 2-3 weeks of initial contact. We're looking to move quickly and will be interviewing candidates on a rolling basis. Our Culture Alaffia was born out of our founders’ personal connection to the inefficiency of the U.S. healthcare system. We are deeply mission-driven, with an abiding belief that technology can help create a better future for everyone — and we’re looking for others who share our passion for change to join the team.
