Job description
Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a leading global communications agency built to navigate the complexities of a hyper-connected world. We represent the icons and innovators shaping culture—from global heritage corporations and high-growth tech startups to the non-profits, creative legends, and visionary founders who define the global discourse.
Our expertise spans the full cultural spectrum. We operate at the intersection of entertainment, social impact, corporate reputation, and consumer lifestyle, executing seamlessly across traditional media, social-first outlets, brand partnerships, and influencer ecosystems. Whether we are navigating complex crisis management, elevating advocacy campaigns, or launching global consumer brands, we are storytellers at our core.
You may notice our digital presence is purposefully understated. While our clients are global household names, we believe the best work happens when the spotlight stays firmly on those we represent. We fly under the radar by design - preferring to let our campaigns, and our results, speak for themselves.
If you're driven, intentional, and ready to do good, we're ready for you!
Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis has an immediate opening for a strategic, high-energy Account Manager in our New York City office. You’ve been doing this for a bit—about 5–6 years —and you are looking for a challenge that rewards your curiosity and your ability to be a jack-of-all-trades. We are major proponents of the generalist mentality; we want someone who is just as excited to dive into a tech launch as they are a social good campaign or a high-profile consumer event.
This is a role for a modern storyteller who understands that in 2026, a brand’s narrative must be fluid. You are a go-getter with a sharp blend of EQ and IQ, capable of managing the day-to-day needs of a client while thinking creatively about their full public persona—from earned media and partnerships to social ecosystems and influencer engagement. If you are cool under pressure and want to flex your entrepreneurial muscles in an environment where no two days are the same, we want to hear from you.
The Role:
Multidisciplinary Narrative Execution: Work across a roster of 4–6 clients. You develop and execute strategic communications plans that are platform-agnostic, ensuring brand stories break through in traditional media, digital spaces, and cultural conversations.
Modern Storytelling & Integration: Act as the hub for integrated communications. While you are a specialist in earned media, you understand how to navigate social media strategy and talent integration to ensure every campaign has a cohesive, 360-degree impact.
Account Stewardship & Leadership: Lead and project manage small-to-medium accounts (and portions of larger ones), serving as the client’s trusted daily point person. You ensure deliverables are met, client expectations are exceeded, and the internal team is motivated.
Content Command: Produce sophisticated, client-ready materials—from persuasive pitches and press releases to executive talking points and briefing notes. You are a fast, sharp writer who knows how to frame a story for various audiences.
Event & Experience Support: Plan and execute media-specific events, including press conferences and influencer activations. You own the ground game: managing invite lists, wrangling media on-site, and ensuring the details of an activation are handled with total precision.
Mentorship & Team Coaching: Proactively mentor and teach junior staff. This is incredibly important to us; you are a natural coach who is invested in training the next generation of account leaders in the art of the modern pitch.
Business Growth: Participate in new business meetings and assist in creating winning proposals. You are proactive about bringing new opportunities—media meetings, key introductions, and fresh creative ideas—to your clients and the agency.
Relationship Driven: You recognize that our business is built on trust. You lead by example in every interaction—with teammates, clients, and journalists—prioritizing integrity, transparency, and professional poise.
Who You Are:
The Experienced Generalist: You have 5–6 years of experience in communications across a variety of consumer, tech, or lifestyle brands. You pride yourself on your ability to learn a new industry quickly and deeply.
The Modern Strategist: You understand the mechanics of integrated communications, including the business of the creator economy and how social media moves the needle. You are an outside-the-box thinker who loves a good brainstorm.
High EQ: You possess high EQ and great judgment. You can read a room, handle last-minute client requests with ease, and know exactly when to make a decision and when to seek senior counsel.
A Meticulous Storyteller: You are a strong writer—persuasive, concise, and creative. You can take a complex brand mission and translate it into a narrative that compels an editor or an audience to take notice.
Entrepreneurial & Agile: You have an innate curiosity and a desire to make things better. You don't wait for a process to be assigned; you look for ways to be helpful and bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table.
Exceptionally Organized: You excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously with shifting priorities. You take accountability for your work and take genuine pride in the precision of your account management.
