Job description

ABOUT VERA HEALTH Vera is the fastest-growing clinical app for healthcare professionals in the world. Five people built it. We’re already operating at a scale most teams never reach, with a team most people would think is too small to pull it off. That’s by design. Everyone here runs at a level that compresses what would normally take entire teams. We keep it that way by only hiring people who raise the standard the moment they join. We’re building the founding team. The people who join now will define how this company operates for the next decade, and shape the future of healthcare. We move at a pace that feels unreasonable to most, and completely natural to the right people. If that pace feels natural to you, you belong here. THE ROLE The product is the company. Healthcare runs on decisions, and Vera gets used in moments where those decisions actually matter. What’s on the screen has to be clear and reliable right away, because how it looks and behaves is part of the decision itself. Every screen and every interaction should help a clinician get to the right answer faster. You’ll own how Vera looks, feels, and works, end to end. Not just designing it, but building it too. Product, brand, typography, interactions, the system behind it, all of it. You’ll write code, ship fast, and see your work in use within days, so the feedback loop is tight and the standard stays high. You notice things other people don’t, and you don’t ignore them. You don’t think of design and engineering as separate, because for you they aren’t. When everyone can move fast, what matters is taste, and that’s what you bring. This isn’t a typical design role. You’re shaping what it feels like to use Vera in moments that matter, and the decisions you make will define that experience at scale. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Own how Vera shows up end to end, from product to brand to interaction details - Design and build directly in production, no handoffs - Make decisions that affect how information is read, understood, and acted on - Push the product forward every week with fast iteration and high standards - Work closely with the founders on every part of the product WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - You naturally move between design and code - You have strong taste, and you care about the details most people overlook - You’ve worked on both product and brand - You notice when something is off and fix it without being asked - You’re fast, but you care about getting things right - You want to own something, not just contribute to it HOW WE WORK Ship, then improve. We get things in front of users fast and let real feedback drive iteration. A feature in production teaches you more than a month of planning. Own it completely. There's no handoff culture here. You take a problem and see it through, from first principles to production. Always look out for the user. Every decision comes back to the clinician on the other end. If it doesn't make their day better, it doesn't ship. WHY VERA - Rocketship traction: 100%+ MoM growth, built by a team of 5 - Real impact: Every feature you build helps clinicians make better decisions and save lives - Best time to join: We’ve just raised our Series A and are entering the most important phase of the company, where a small team defines everything that comes next DETAILS - Location: San Francisco (strongly preferred). For exceptional candidates, remote or relocation support (O-1A / H-1B sponsorship) available. - Compensation: Competitive salary + meaningful early-stage equity. Details shared in process. - Employment: Full-time
