ABOUT THE ROLE A growing financial institution is seeking a CPA with public accounting experience to join its Finance team in a broad, high-visibility role supporting financial reporting, controls, regulatory reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This position offers exposure across multiple banking products and functions, including loans, deposits, securities, and financial statement reporting. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and working cross-functionally in a dynamic environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Build, enhance, and execute financial controls across key product areas, including loans, deposits, securities, and other balance sheet activities.Support financial reporting processes, including financial statement preparation, regulatory reporting, and controls documentation.Prepare and post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.Assist with Call Report preparation and other regulatory filing requirements.Partner with external auditors by providing supporting documentation and coordinating audit requests.Perform financial analysis and reporting to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.Collaborate with Operations, Loan Operations, and other business units to strengthen controls and improve reporting processes.Participate in vendor risk management activities and support special projects and process improvement initiatives.Contribute to the ongoing modernization and enhancement of the accounting and finance infrastructure. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Active CPA license required.3 5 years of public accounting experience with a Big 4 firm.Financial Services experience required;banking experience preferred.Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting processes.Experience supporting audits, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting activities.Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.Detail-oriented mindset with strong professional skepticism and a focus on continuous improvement.
