Job description

About Huzzle At Huzzle, we connect exceptional talents with top opportunities at leading companies across the UK, US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Our clients include startups, digital agencies, and tech platforms in industries such as SaaS, MarTech, FinTech, and EdTech. Unlike an outsourcing agency, we place you directly with a client where you’re hired in-house as a valued member of their team. Role Type: Full-time About the company Our client is an established digital marketing agency that has spent over 15 years helping businesses across the United States dominate search engine results. Based in Colorado, the team provides a comprehensive suite of services including expert SEO, paid ad campaigns, web development, and review management. They serve a diverse portfolio of clients—ranging from medical and legal professionals to contractors and B2B firms—by replacing "cookie-cutter" templates with custom, data-driven marketing plans. Job Summary This is a high-impact, "player-coach" opportunity to lead a mature SEO program into the next generation of search. As a senior leader on the team, you will inherit an established portfolio and have the autonomy to shape the agency’s strategy across Local Search and AI Engine Optimization (AIEO). We are looking for a visionary strategist who is comfortable moving between high-level team mentorship and deep technical execution. If you are passionate about staying ahead of algorithm shifts and leveraging AI to drive measurable revenue growth for clients, this role offers the platform and resources to make a significant mark. Key Responsibilities • Strategic Leadership: Own the overarching Local SEO and AIEO strategy, ensuring clients dominate both traditional Map Packs and emerging AI-driven search experiences like Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT. • Team Management: Mentor and provide technical direction to a talented SEO team, setting priorities, reviewing deliverables, and maintaining high quality-control standards. • Process Innovation: Develop and continually update agency SOPs covering technical SEO, content architecture, entity optimization, and automated workflows. • GBP Mastery: Manage and troubleshoot Google Business Profiles at scale, including complex cases involving suspensions, reinstatements, and multi-location optimization. • AI Integration: Research and implement AI-powered tools to improve research, analysis, and content workflows, distinguishing meaningful technical developments from industry hype. • Performance Reporting: Define meaningful KPIs that connect organic visibility and Google Business Profile engagement directly to client leads and revenue. • Client Collaboration: Act as a strategic lead on key accounts, presenting performance data and collaborating across departments (Paid Search, Dev, Content) to ensure holistic client success. Requirements • At least 4 years of hands-on SEO experience with a focus on local/multi-location search (7+ years required for Director-level consideration). • Must be based in North America and able to work North American time zones. • Local SEO Expertise: Deep knowledge of local ranking factors, including citations, NAP consistency, local link acquisition, and location page strategy. • AIEO Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of generative search, structured data, and topical authority within the context of AI-search experiences. • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of technical SEO, including audits, crawlability, schema implementation, and site architecture. • Leadership Track Record: Experience managing SEO professionals or serving as the strategic lead across a diverse portfolio of clients. • Agency Background: Previous experience in an agency environment, specifically working with multi-location brands, home services, or medical clients. • Tool Proficiency: Substantial experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Semrush/Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and local-specific tools like BrightLocal or Local Falcon. Nice-to-Haves • Next.js Experience: Technical familiarity with Next.js frameworks. • Dev Skills: Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. • Platform Expertise: Experience with WordPress builders like Elementor or Divi. Benefits 💻 Fully Remote: Work from anywhere with international teams 🤝 Peer Community: Connect with high-performing sales professionals in our network 🧭 Ongoing Support: Receive guidance from Huzzle before and after placement 💰 Tailored Compensation: Salaries vary by client and candidate preference — we’ll match you with options that fit your goals
