Sr. Product Manager Return to Jobs Apply
Location: Schaumburg,Illinois
Expected Start Date: Nov 2, 2026
Salary: $140,000 - $150,000
Senior Product Manager, International Expansion - Remote - $150,000
Launching a product in a new country is about more than changing the currency and flipping a switch. You have to understand the market, figure out what customers need, navigate the differences, and build a strategy that makes sense for the business. If that's the kind of challenge you enjoy, this opportunity puts you right in the middle of it.
A growing payments technology company is looking to expand its reach into Canada and Europe , and they're bringing on a Senior Product Manager to help make that happen. This isn't a role where you'll spend your days sorting through a backlog or managing a list of feature requests. You'll have a hand in determining how the product enters new markets, what needs to change to succeed there, and how the company turns international opportunities into real business growth. Your decisions will help shape where the product goes next.
You'll need to bring more than a strong product management résumé. The company wants someone who can evaluate a market, understand customer and competitive needs, work through regulatory and operational considerations, and translate all of that into a practical product strategy. You'll collaborate with internal teams and customers, make recommendations, challenge assumptions, and keep initiatives moving from early research through execution. The culture is relatively casual, and the team values clear thinking and straight talk over corporate formalities. If you can explain why a particular direction makes sense, back it up, and confidently push back when something doesn't add up, you'll be in your element.
For someone already working in payments or fintech product management, the appeal is the scope. Instead of owning another slice of an established product, you'll help figure out how that product competes and grows in new geographic markets. You'll have meaningful ownership, room to influence decisions, and the opportunity to see your strategy translate into tangible expansion.
The easiest part of this job:
You'll have a clear business objective to work toward: helping the company expand internationally. You'll be able to connect market research, customer insights, and product decisions to a larger growth initiative rather than focusing exclusively on incremental feature releases.
The hardest part of this job:
There isn't a universal playbook for entering a new market. You'll need to work through unfamiliar conditions, weigh regulatory and commercial considerations, and make decisions when not every answer is obvious. You'll also need to get people across different functions aligned around your recommendations. If you enjoy every decision handed to you, this probably won't be a match. If you enjoy working through complexity and taking ownership of the outcome, that's exactly what makes the opportunity interesting.
What's in it for you?
• Competitive base salary of $150,000
• Annual bonus opportunity
• Remote work opportunity from anywhere in the United States
• The chance to influence international expansion into Canada and Europe
• Meaningful ownership of product strategy and market-entry decisions
• The opportunity to work on business growth rather than simply managing a product backlog
What you'll be doing:
• Help define and execute the product strategy for expansion into Canada and Europe
• Evaluate new markets, including customer needs, competitive dynamics, and commercial opportunities
• Determine what product capabilities, workflows, or experiences need to change for different markets
• Work through regulatory, operational, and market-specific considerations with the appropriate internal teams
• Gather customer and stakeholder insights to guide product decisions
• Build business cases and make recommendations based on market opportunity and commercial potential
• Partner across Engineering, Compliance, and other business functions to move expansion initiatives forward
• Balance strategic planning with hands-on execution, taking initiatives from evaluation through launch
• Communicate your recommendations clearly, challenge assumptions when needed, and keep teams aligned on priorities
• Track outcomes and use what you learn to guide future expansion decisions
What you need:
• Strong experience as a Product Manager, with genuine ownership of product strategy and execution
• Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, SaaS/B2B, embedded finance, or a closely related industry
• Experience launching, adapting, or expanding products into new geographic markets
• An understanding of the payments ecosystem and the considerations involved in entering new markets
• The ability to evaluate customer needs, competitive conditions, regulatory requirements, and commercial viability
• Experience taking initiatives from strategy through execution, not just managing requirements or maintaining a backlog
• Strong analytical skills and sound commercial judgment
• Confidence communicating recommendations, influencing stakeholders, and pushing back when necessary
• An independent, collaborative working style and comfort making decisions amid ambiguity
• The ability to connect product strategy to measurable business outcomes
You'll be especially interesting if you've:
• Helped launch or expand a product in Canada or Europe
• Worked through the challenges of adapting a payments product for a new country or region
• Operated in a growing technology business where you had direct access to decision-makers and could influence strategy
This opportunity is best suited to someone who wants to shape where a product goes next, not simply manage what already exists. If you've helped take products into new markets and want a bigger role in determining how international growth happens, here's your chance to put that experience to work. Help shape the next stage of this company's growth. Apply today!
