Job description

ABOUT AVOCA Avoca is transforming how home service companies engage with their customers. Our AI-powered conversational agents handle every high-value inbound call, from booking jobs, qualifying leads, and driving higher revenue, all at a speed and consistency unmatched by human call centers. We're a Series B startup backed by Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, General Catalyst, and other top-tier investors, with $125M raised and a $1B valuation. We grew 10x in 2025 and have scaled to 170+ employees in under two years across our NYC headquarters and Santa Barbara office. In a $1T+ market where 85% of missed calls go to competitors, we're building the category-defining platform for AI-driven customer engagement, serving the largest brands in home services. With high-energy, in-office teams in both locations, every hire here has an immediate and visible impact. ABOUT THE ROLE As our GTM Recruiter, you'll partner with the Head of GTM Recruiting to build out Avoca's commercial organization at one of the most pivotal moments in our growth. You'll own end-to-end recruiting across Sales, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Business Operations, Marketing, and adjacent commercial roles, with the autonomy to shape how we attract, evaluate, and close talent as we scale. This is a builder's seat. You'll inherit a foundation but have real ownership over candidate experience, sourcing strategy, and the systems that will define how Avoca hires for years to come. You'll work directly with sales and commercial leadership as a trusted partner, and report to our Head of GTM Recruiting. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Run full-cycle recruiting across all GTM functions, holding a high bar on quality and speed while managing multiple searches in parallel. - Identify and engage passive talent that isn't on the market yet, building relationships over weeks and months so that when the right role opens, the right person is already in conversation. - Shape a candidate experience that becomes a competitive advantage, where every touchpoint reflects our culture, declined candidates refer their network, and our process itself is a reason people say yes. - Craft authentic outreach and positioning that cuts through the noise of generic pitches and gets elite candidates to take the call. - Partner with hiring leaders on intake, calibration, and closing strategy, influencing decisions with data and conviction. - Build the operational backbone, from pipeline tracking, scorecards, sourcing playbooks, that lets us scale without sacrificing quality. WHAT YOU’LL BRING - 5-7 years in GTM recruiting at high-growth startups (agency backgrounds welcome), ideally early-stage experience. - A track record of sourcing and closing top commercial talent, not just running process on inbound. - Demonstrated ability to identify passive candidates and build long-arc relationships that convert. - Strong stakeholder management: you can push back on a hiring manager and earn their trust at the same time. - Comfort managing multiple reqs simultaneously with rigorous follow-through and organization. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ideally fluency in our core stack: Ashby, Noon AI, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Notion. WHO YOU ARE - Builder mentality: you see gaps in process and want to fix them, not flag them. - Energized by inflection points and the ambiguity that comes with scaling fast. - Thoughtful about candidate experience as a craft, not a checkbox. - Self-directed and entrepreneurial, with strong instincts for prioritization. - Collaborative and organized, with a high standard for your own work. - Eager to work in person at our NYC office full time. BENEFITS - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance - Company-sponsored 401(k) through Vestwell - Flexible PTO plus U.S. federal holidays - Company-wide off-sites - Daily in-office lunch through Parkday - Monthly wellness stipend - Dinner covered when working late - Commuter benefits and late-night rideshare - Standing desks and workspace accommodations available on request - All core tools and software provided Compensation: The expected base salary for this role is $140,000-$180,000 with final compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications determined during the interview process. Avoca’s total compensation package includes base salary, bonus, equity, and a comprehensive suite of benefits and perks. Our Recruiting team will share the full details as you progress through our hiring process. WHY AVOCA At Avoca, you’ll be part of a team that’s building a category-defining company at the center of a massive market opportunity. We’re a fast-moving, collaborative team with a culture designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and impact. Avoca provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability.
