Job description

National Account Manager, Convenience Stores (RTD) Department: Sales – National Accounts Location: Hybrid / Field-Based (National Travel Required) Industry: Health & Wellness CPG (RTD Energy & Protein Beverages) Exempt: Yes Salary: Based on experience Who We Are At Just Ingredients – a health and wellness e-commerce company – we believe that nourishing your body with real ingredients is essential for living a healthy and fulfilling life. That's why our products are made using carefully selected, whole-food ingredients. And our people are just as real as our ingredients – authentic, collaborative, and dedicated to fostering a workplace that inspires individuals and teams to reach their full potential. What We're Looking For We are seeking an experienced National Account Manager to lead the expansion of our RTD (ready-to-drink) energy and protein portfolio into the convenience store channel nationwide. This is a strategic, relationship-driven role for someone who already has real standing with national and regional C-store chains and major distributors – someone who gets meetings with buyers and category managers because of relationships built over years, not cold calls. You'll be responsible for winning new distribution, negotiating trade and promotional programs, and building long-term partnerships at the chain and distributor headquarters level. This role is built for a dealmaker, not a route-level merchandiser or delivery representative – you set the strategy, win the shelf and cold vault space, and negotiate the terms; distributor and broker field teams handle execution at the store level. What You'll Do National Account Development & Relationship Management • Build, own, and grow relationships with buyers, category managers, and headquarters-level decision-makers at national and regional C-store chains. • Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for major distributor and wholesaler partners (Core-Mark, McLane, H.T. Hackney, and other regional and national distributors). • Bring existing, credible relationships with C-store and distributor leadership into the role from day one, and continue expanding that network nationally. New Distribution & Program Negotiation • Identify, prospect, and secure new national and regional C-store banners for Just Ingredients' RTD portfolio. • Lead negotiations for national distribution agreements, including pricing, trade terms, slotting, and promotional programs. • Build and deliver compelling category and brand presentations for buyer meetings, category reviews, and chain-level reset planning. • Secure cold vault and shelf placement commitments through chain-level negotiation, then partner with distributor and broker field teams to ensure what's been negotiated gets executed at retail. Category & Program Strategy • Develop category management strategies and business cases that win incremental space and velocity for Just Ingredients in a competitive RTD category. • Lead national limited-time offer (LTO) and promotional program strategy, negotiating terms directly with chain buyers. • Partner with Marketing on brand positioning, POS strategy, and the category insights used in buyer and distributor presentations. Cross-Functional Leadership • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain on distribution capacity, lead times, and logistics needed to support new account launches. • Partner with Finance on trade spend strategy, pricing architecture, and deal economics for national agreements. • Direct distributor and broker field teams on program execution standards, without personally managing store-level delivery or merchandising. Market Intelligence & Reporting • Track category trends, competitor innovation, and chain reset calendars across the national convenience landscape. • Maintain accurate CRM records and manage a structured national account pipeline. • Report on account performance, new distribution wins, competitive activity, and pipeline to leadership. Brand Representation • Represent Just Ingredients at national distributor conventions, buyer conferences, trade shows, and industry events. • Serve as a credible, senior voice for the brand in front of national retail and distributor executives. What We Offer • Competitive salary based on experience • Performance-based bonus tied to new distribution and account growth • Remote, field-based work environment with nationwide travel • Medical, Dental, and Life Insurance • Generous PTO • Employee discounts • Gym Stipend • Opportunity to join a high-growth, fast-paced, mission-driven brand with real advancement potential as the C-store channel scales nationally What You'll Bring • 7+ years of CPG sales experience, with proven experience negotiating directly with national or regional convenience store chains and major distributors (Core-Mark, McLane, H.T. Hackney, or similar). • Established existing relationships with C-store buyers, category managers, or distributor executives at the national level – this is a significant advantage for this role. • Proven track record securing new national distribution and negotiating chain-level trade and promotional programs – this is a strategy and negotiation role, not a route-level delivery or merchandising role. • Deep understanding of category management, planogram and reset strategy, and trade economics within the beverage or RTD category. • RTD, energy drink, or functional beverage category experience strongly preferred. • Excellent executive-level presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. • Comfortable with extensive nationwide travel to buyer meetings, trade shows, and distributor conventions. • CRM experience and the ability to manage a structured national account pipeline. • Passion for health, wellness, and bringing clean-label products into the convenience channel.
