Job description

ABOUT US The world is electrifying. As we plug in more devices and services, we need new ways to connect to power. The traditional, one-size-fits-all utility approach, with complicated bills and frustrating customer service, no longer works. At Light, we make it easy to get affordable, renewable electricity by embedding power with the products that consumers already use, from the companies they love. Light's mission is to power a sustainable and abundant energy future for everyone. We do it by making any company able to sell electricity. With Light's utility-as-API platform, companies from automakers and solar providers to real estate and beyond can offer their own, integrated electricity plans. Imagine purchasing an electric vehicle that includes unlimited home charging, or solar panels that come bundled with any excess energy you might need from the grid. We're building the flexible future where clean energy shows up wherever customers already are. We're a Series A company based in Austin, TX. We've found meaningful traction and are now investing aggressively in growth. Join us in building the digital energy infrastructure for the next century of power. THE ROLE You’ll roll up your sleeves alongside the founders and early team to help build how our partners implement, launch, and scale their energy programs. Your mission is to own our partners’ successful technical engagements with Light– from hands-on initial implementation through to deeper integrations and long-term growth. You will serve as the primary technical point of contact and trusted advisor for our Partners. You will also be a "bridge" between our partners’ developers and our own product and engineering teams, building a successful feedback loop to make sure our programs launch seamlessly, perform exceptionally, and expand. You’ll work with Light’s Partner Success team and our partners’ teams to align priorities, drive impact, and build the systems that make our partner motion scalable and repeatable. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll combine creative problem solving, product solutioning, project management, and strategic thinking to shape how Light—and our partners—succeed and grow. IN YOUR FIRST SIX MONTHS, YOU WILL: - Own partner launch implementations: Act as the technical primary for new partners, moving them from contract to "first customer" with urgency. You will manage the technical relationship, advise on and review their integration, and execute the hands-on technical setups for each new partner. - Accelerate partner development on Light’s platform: Act as the technical subject matter expert for Light’s platform. You will proactively unblock partner developers, troubleshoot complex integration issues, and update the "how-to" resources (guides, code snippets, FAQs) that accelerate development on our APIs. - Optimize the feedback loop between partners & Product: Capture nuanced feedback from the field and translate partner experience into product feedback to influence our roadmap, while also effectively communicating our product vision back to our partner developers and users. - Own complex, multi-stakeholder technical projects: Coordinate across Light’s teams and partner teams to deliver on technical initiatives such as new hardware/device connections or major API updates. - Define & measure partner technical success: Consistently re-define and improve upon what a "healthy" integrated solution looks like, including setup, time, workflows, and level of effort for integration. Proactively identify potential API issues that could affect partners. YOU WOULD DESCRIBE YOURSELF AS: - Technically savvy, can read code, navigate API architecture, energized by building modern products, and comfortable using tools like SQL to troubleshoot. - A strong communicator, who can translate technical concepts into clear actions and lead a room of diverse stakeholders through complex technical topics. - An analytical problem solver, who spots issues, uncovers root causes, and uses data to troubleshoot issues, prioritize effectively, and influence decisions. - An outcome-oriented project manager, bringing extreme clarity, focus, and follow-through to complex workstreams, ensuring no ball is dropped. - Entrepreneurial, who navigates ambiguity with ease and can build in a dynamic environment. - Experienced and in Austin, 5-7+ years of experience (ideally in technical or solutions roles) and the ability to work 5 days per week in office.
