Job description

About Humble Robotics Working at Humble Robotics means taking on the biggest change in ground transportation in decades. We’re building an autonomous, zero-emissions hauler that dramatically lowers the cost of freight with groundbreaking vision-based AI, designed for today’s global logistics network. We’re a fast-moving, close-knit team of AV industry veterans and innovative thinkers. We don’t believe culture can be engineered – but when it falls into place, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Progress has never felt so present. Position Overview Own the design of new electronic hardware for autonomous automotive platforms end-to-end—from concept and architecture through schematic, layout, fabrication, and release to manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Bring up new and existing PCBs: power-on, basic validation, programming, and root-causing board-level issues. Integrate sensors, compute, and actuators on the bench and final platform; exercise UART, SPI, I²C, USB, CAN, etc. Scout, buy, and stand up EVKs/dev kits; build simple test setups and report data to inform hardware choices. Use Altium for schematic capture, layout review, and full board designs from concept to release. Plan and run lab tests with oscilloscope, logic analyzer, supplies, and loads; document bring-up steps, test results, and known issues. Work closely with Mechanical, Firmware and Systems engineers to debug system-level issues that trace back to electronics. Minimum Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. All experience levels. Internships and student team projects (for example Formula SAE) count. Hands-on experience bringing up custom PCBs or complex dev boards. Proficiency with Altium Designer (schematic, layout, and outputs: BOM, Gerbers, assembly files). Working knowledge of common peripherals and components: microcontrollers/SoCs, power regulators, basic analog, level shifting. Practical experience with UART, SPI, I²C, and at least one of USB or CAN. Comfortable with lab equipment (scope, logic analyzer, DMM, supplies) and reading datasheets/app notes. Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating sensors and compute for robotics or autonomy (e.g., cameras, radar, lidar, IMUs, GNSS). Basic embedded firmware skills (C/C++) for board bring-up and hardware testing. Experience at an AV, autonomous trucking, or automotive program at an OEM or Tier 1. Released a board to manufacturing, including DFM review and production test. Automotive-grade design: AEC-Q components, derating, transient and ESD protection. Automotive LV power distribution, harness design, or EMC testing. Compensation Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including qualifications, skills, experience, and location. We also offer competitive equity compensation and benefits. As part of the interview process, we may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to compare your qualifications and experience to the job description. A human reviews all AI output and makes a final hiring decision. Humble Robotics does not rely on the output to make any employment decisions. Some applicants may have a legal right to opt-out of the use of AI as part of our interview process. Contact legal@humblerobotics.ai to exercise this right or if you have further questions on the use of AI tools in our hiring process. Humble Robotics is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, national origin, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status or any other characteristics protected by law. Humble Robotics will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in a manner consistent with local ordinances.
