Job description

ABOUT READ AI Read AI read.ai is redefining how teams collaborate by bringing intelligence to every conversation. Our platform improves productivity across meetings, messages, and email and works with the tools teams already use, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Slack. We believe meetings should produce clear outcomes—not more content to process. We’re building a product that helps people arrive prepared, participate effectively, understand what happened, follow through on what was decided, and carry the right context forward. Backed by $81 million from Smash Capital, Madrona, and Goodwater Capital, Read AI is growing quickly. If you want to shape the future of AI-powered collaboration at a product-focused startup, we’d love to meet you. THE ROLE: We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to help define the future of organizational intelligence at Read. Organizations create valuable context every day, but much of it remains fragmented across conversations, tools, teams, and individual memory. People struggle to understand what has happened, what has changed, and what others already know—leading to repeated work, lost continuity, and decisions made with incomplete information. You’ll define how Read turns that fragmented context into useful, trustworthy intelligence for individuals and organizations. You’ll work at the intersection of AI, knowledge systems, personalization, collaboration, and user experience. This is a high-ambiguity builder role. You’ll develop a clear point of view, identify the highest-value customer problems, ship focused solutions, and demonstrate measurable impact. WHAT YOU’LL DO: - Set the strategy and priorities for organizational-intelligence experiences. - Understand how individuals, teams, and leaders find and use context across their work. - Help customers connect information across conversations, relationships, and time. - Translate complex AI and knowledge capabilities into intuitive, trustworthy experiences. - Establish a high bar for relevance, provenance, privacy, permissions, and customer control. - Lead from customer discovery and problem framing through launch, measurement, and iteration. - Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Enterprise, Platform, and GTM. - Define success around improved awareness and decisions—not product activity alone. HOW YOU’LL WORK: - Start with the customer job to be done. Focus the team on a meaningful problem, not a predetermined feature. - Turn ambiguity into shipped value. Break broad opportunities into focused bets that build toward a larger vision. - Learn by building. Prototype early, test ideas, and be willing to change direction. - Match rigor to risk. Know when more research will improve a decision and when shipping is the fastest way to learn. - Hold speed and quality together. Deliver frequent, meaningful improvements without compromising customer trust. - Be hands-on. Use AI, prototypes, data, and direct customer evidence to move the work forward alongside Design and Engineering. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: - 6+ years of product-management experience, with a track record of owning complex, customer-facing products. - The ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into focused strategy, shipped products, and measurable outcomes. - Experience with enterprise collaboration, knowledge, search, analytics, CRM, personalization, or productivity software. - Strong technical intuition and credibility with Engineering and Data Science. - Excellent customer, product, and UX judgment grounded in research, data, and direct observation. - A hands-on, AI-native approach to research, analysis, prototyping, and execution. - Clear communication and the ability to align cross-functional teams and senior leadership. - Comfort moving quickly, making tradeoffs, and changing direction as evidence develops. NICE TO HAVE: - Experience connecting information across multiple systems or data sources. - Experience with retrieval, generative AI, knowledge graphs, or personalization. - Experience building products for both individuals and organizations. - Experience with enterprise permissions, governance, or data sensitivity. - A technical or design background.
