We are one of the fastest-growing vertical SaaS companies in history, and we are just getting started. EvenUp is backed by top VCs, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, SignalFire, and Lightspeed. We are looking to expand our team with talented, driven, and collaborative individuals who seek to have a lasting impact. Learn more at www.evenuplaw.com . 🎥 Life as an Engineer at EvenUp We are seeking Senior and Mid-Level Backend Engineers to join our Growth engineering pod, which is part of the combined Growth & Agents organization developing the next generation of AI-powered customer communication. This team is responsible for the systems that power how personal injury law firms engage with clients at scale, from AI outreach agents and configurable communication workflows to a centralized communication hub spanning email, SMS, and voice. As one of the senior backend engineers on the team, you’ll own technical decisions end-to-end, from shaping ambiguous product ideas through production. You’ll partner closely with Product and Design, influence the direction of the platform, and help solve open-ended engineering problems where there isn’t always a clear right answer. With a small team supporting a broad product surface, you’ll have significant ownership and the opportunity to shape both the architecture and the product itself. What You’ll Do • Ship backend features and services across EvenUp's Growth pod - from multi-channel outreach agents to configurable communication workflows. • Own technical decisions within your scope end-to-end, from design through production. • Partner closely with Product and Design on ambiguous, evolving specs, especially around bespoke customer customization requests. • Build for low-latency, high-performance needs as usage scales. • Contribute across the team's email, SMS, and voice channel work. What We Look For • A strong track record of shipping production systems end-to-end, and the ability to clearly explain the technical decisions you made and what you learned. • Comfortable working through ambiguity and solving problems that don’t come with a predefined solution. • Strong technical depth and the ability to dive into the details of your own work rather than speaking in generalities. • Experience with TypeScript and/or Python is a plus. Experience building AI-powered products, conversational AI, communication platforms, or SMS/compliance systems is an even bigger plus. • 5+ years of software engineering experience as an individual contributor. We’re looking for builders who enjoy owning technical problems rather than pursuing people management. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being in our Toronto or San Francisco office three days per week. #LI-Hybrid Benefits & Perks: As part of our total rewards package, we offer attractive benefits and perks to our employees, including: • Choice of medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for you and your family. • Additional insurance coverage options for life, accident, or critical illness. • Flexible paid time off, sick leave, short-term and long-term disability. • 10 US observed holidays, and Canadian statutory holidays by province. • A home office stipend. • 401(k) for US-based employees and RRSP for Canada-based employees. • Paid parental leave. • A local in-person meet-up program. • Hubs in San Francisco and Toronto. (Please note the above benefits & perks are for full-time employees) Notice to Candidates: To ensure fairness and proper consideration, we do not accept resumes or expressions of interest via email or social media messages. If you’re interested in a role, please submit your application directly through our careers page . Please note that EvenUp may use AI notetakers and other recording devices in the recruiting process. If you interview with us, with your consent, we may record your conversations and summarize them into notes for internal use. Recording is optional, and declining will not affect your candidacy.
