Job description

ABOUT US We're living through a fundamental shift in how people discover, evaluate, and purchase products. The next generation doesn't respond to traditional marketing -- they build relationships with brands through authentic social interactions, seek recommendations from communities they trust, and expect personalized experiences that feel human, not corporate. At Nectar, we're building the AI-native social operating system that enables this new era of commerce. We believe every social interaction should deepen the relationship between brands and their communities while creating genuine value for both sides. Founded by ex-Meta product and engineering leaders, we've raised over $30M in total capital from investors including GV and True Ventures. We work with brands like Oura Health, Caraway, e.l.f. Cosmetics, Kosas, OLIPOP, and many more. We're building the future of social commerce -- where community, conversation, and commerce converge. THE ROLE We're looking for a Senior Product Manager, AI to lead the development of AI-powered capabilities across Nectar's platform. In this role, you'll own the strategy and execution behind features that leverage generative AI, automation, and data-driven decision systems to help brands manage social engagement, community, and creator relationships. You'll work closely with engineering and leadership to build AI-native workflows that deliver measurable impact for customers while shaping how AI is embedded throughout our product experience. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING - Own the end-to-end development of AI-powered product features from discovery and design through launch and iteration - Partner closely with engineering teams to build and refine generative prompting systems, AI workflows, and model-powered features - Serve as the voice of the customer by conducting research, gathering feedback, and translating insights into product improvements - Define and track key performance metrics for AI-driven features such as automation impact, engagement outcomes, and accuracy - Identify high-impact opportunities to apply AI across social engagement, personalization, and operational workflows - Write product specifications, test features, and iterate quickly in a fast-moving startup environment - Stay informed on industry developments across AI, generative technologies, and social commerce WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 5+ years of product management experience shipping successful software products - Strong analytical skills with experience defining metrics and using data to guide product decisions - Experience working with or strong interest in AI/ML technologies, particularly generative AI or prompting workflows - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams - Proven ability to drive projects in fast-paced, high-ownership environments - Comfort operating in ambiguity and prioritizing effectively in early-stage product environments BONUS POINTS - Experience working at early-stage or high-growth startups - Background in social commerce, creator economy tools, or enterprise SaaS products - Familiarity with machine learning systems such as LLMs, embedding systems, or recommendation engines - Experience building products for consumer brands or marketing teams - MBA or a track record of exceptional academic or professional achievement WHAT WE OFFER - Competitive compensation and early equity - Health, vision, and dental benefits + 401(k) match - ClassPass membership for fitness and wellness classes - Hybrid schedule: 4 days in office, plus 3 remote flex days per quarter (after your first 3 months) - Comprehensive stipends: $1,000/month housing stipend for living near the office, $50/month mobile stipend, and commuter benefits (train stipend or Palo Alto parking reimbursement) - Free lunch in the heart of University Ave. in Palo Alto - Clear career growth opportunities as the company scales
