Job description

At Range, we’re building towards a world where anyone can live the financial life they imagine for themselves. If that sounds like a mission you want to be a part of, let’s create it together. We’re building AI-powered wealth management. Investments, taxes, retirement, estate planning, all in one platform instead of scattered across different advisors and apps. We're backed by Google's Gradient Ventures, Cathay Innovation, Scale Venture Partners, and more. We’re growing fast while still small enough that everyone's work is visible and impactful. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to own and evolve the Range iOS experience. You'll shape how members interact with their financial life on mobile. This is a high-ownership role on a small, fast-moving team where what you build ships to members quickly and visibly. You'll work closely with product, design, and other engineers to define what mobile-first wealth management looks like. You won't just implement specs. You'll challenge them, improve them, and push the craft of iOS development forward at Range. WHO YOU ARE A builder. You care about shipping real things to real people. You don't wait for perfect requirements. You dig in, figure it out, and make it better along the way. Craft-obsessed. You sweat the details that most engineers skip. Animations, transitions, scroll performance, accessibility. You know these things are the difference between an app people tolerate and one they love. A product thinker. You think beyond the code to how a feature feels in someone's hands. You push back on designs that won't work well on device and propose alternatives that are better for the member. A leader by example. You raise the bar through the quality of your own work, the clarity of your code reviews, and the way you help other engineers grow. You don't need a title to lead. Obsessed with the member. Our members trust us with their financial lives. You take that seriously. Every interaction, every animation, every edge case matters because trust is built in the details. HOW YOU LEAD AT THIS LEVEL You own major product surfaces on iOS end-to-end. You're the person the team looks to for how things should be built on mobile, from architecture decisions to interaction patterns. You drive technical direction for the iOS codebase, shape the conventions other engineers follow, and make sure what we ship feels as good as what we designed. You partner directly with product and design to influence what gets built, not just how. When something is ambiguous, you bring clarity. When something isn't good enough, you say so. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - 5+ years of mobile development experience, with meaningful time spent building and shipping consumer-facing apps - Expertise in Swift and SwiftUI - Experience architecting modular, testable iOS applications - Track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar on a team - Excellent communication skills. You can articulate technical tradeoffs to engineers and non-engineers alike WHAT WILL SET YOU APART - 0 to 1 mobile product experience - Excellent product instincts. You think about users first, not the cleverest technical solution - Ability to solve ambiguous problems without being told exactly what to do - Security engineering experience - Fintech experience - Startup experience NOT FOR YOU IF - You need a defined process before you can start working. - You think mobile is just a smaller screen for the same experience. - You'd rather wait for a spec than shape the product yourself. - You optimize for consensus over conviction. - You think "move fast" means lower the bar. COMPENSATION Base salary range: $150,000 – $250,000 This is the base salary range we expect in good faith to pay for this role at the time of posting. Where an offer lands within the range depends on the scope and complexity of work the candidate can own independently and demonstrated depth at this level. OTHER COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The range above reflects base salary only. Our offer packages also include equity in the form of stock options, so total compensation for this role will exceed the base salary range. We do not ask for or consider salary history. You are welcome to ask questions about compensation at any point in the process. BENEFITS - Health & Wellness: 100% employer-covered medical insurance for employees (75% for dependents), plus dental and vision coverage - 401(k): Retirement savings program to support your future - Paid Time Off: time to reset and recharge + most federal holidays - Parental Leave: Comprehensive leave policy for growing families - Meals: Select meals covered throughout the week - Fitness: Monthly movement stipend - Equity & Career Growth: Early exercise eligibility and a strong focus on professional development - Annual Compensation Reviews: Salary and equity refreshes based on performance - Boomerang Program: After two years at Range, you can take time away to start your own company.
