Job Summary
WebstaurantStore, a Clark Associates company, is the largest online restaurant supply company, helping foodservice businesses - from small cafés to major enterprises - get the tools they need to grow. Our catalog includes everything from commercial kitchen equipment to frozen foods, apparel, disposables, and more.
We are looking for a proactive, curious Front-End Developer Intern to join our Marketing Sites team for the Summer of 2027. You'll work alongside front-end developers and designers to build and refine customer-facing site experiences across our private label brand portfolio.
Remote Work Qualifications
• Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
• Access to a home router and modem.
• A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
• A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
• The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
• Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, and WY).
We only accept W-2 candidates, H-1B sponsorship is not available.
Responsibilities
• Build responsive pages and components for private label marketing sites from design comps.
• Translate Figma designs into clean, accessible HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Write tests for your changes and contribute to documentation as part of your feature work.
• Collaborate with design, dev, and marketing stakeholders on site updates and campaigns.
• Partner with designers on design reviews, making sure built pages match comps across devices and browsers.
• Help maintain and extend shared components used across sites.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute ideas in team reviews.
• Participate in dev team agile ceremonies.
Physical Requirements
• Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
• Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Qualifications
Experience
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Computer Science, Web Development, or related field preferred, but any major with relevant experience is welcome.
• Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Some exposure to React (coursework, personal projects, or bootcamp) is a plus but not required. Willingness to learn matters more than prior production experience.
• Basic understanding of responsive layout and cross-browser behavior.
• Bonus: familiarity with NextJS, TypeScript, Git, Figma, web accessibility, or e-commerce.
Education
This role does not require a degree. We value relevant skills and experience and alignment with our core values above all else.
Desired Traits & Skills
• Strong eye for detail — not just “does it work” but “does it match the design.”
• Ability to take direction and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Proactive — motivated to learn, work collaboratively, and leave things better than they found them.
• Dependable — meet commitments consistently and communicate roadblocks early.
• Problem solvers — able to dig into a bug or puzzle through a tricky layout.
• Passionate — excited about code and eager to work with new technology.
• Great communicators — able to explain their work clearly and keep the team informed.
• Able to flourish in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Willing to independently take initiative and ownership of problems to find solutions.
