Job description

OUR MISSION: HOSPITAL-QUALITY CARE, EVERYWHERE. The healthcare industry still relies on faxes and phone tags to coordinate critical care for patients at home. We think patients and the clinicians who serve them deserve better than a system stuck in 1995. Verse Medical is building the modern software infrastructure to make it happen. We're a well-funded Series C company (backed by General Catalyst, SignalFire, and Sapphire Ventures) on a mission to heal a fragmented system. Our platform connects the dots between providers, payors, and patients, ensuring people get the high-quality care they need, reliably and right where they live. We’re growing fast and looking for people who are driven by this mission to join us! OUR VALUES: THE PRINCIPLES THAT GUIDE US Our values are the operating system for how we work together and with our partners. They aren't just words on a wall; they are the principles we bring to every decision, every day. - We are transparent, upfront and direct. We operate with honesty and clarity. We share information openly, the good and the bad, and believe that direct, respectful feedback is the foundation of trust and progress. - We value speed of iteration. We are building something new, which means we learn by doing. We prioritize rapid iteration and getting solutions into the hands of users, believing that progress is more valuable than perfection. - We give 110% effort, 30% of the time. We are passionate about our mission, and there are moments that require us to go the extra mile. We believe in focused intensity when it counts, balanced by a sustainable pace that keeps our team energized for the long run. - We empathize with customers to a fault. When our users face a problem, we own it. Instead of asking them to change, we ask ourselves, "How can we make this better?" We believe true innovation comes from deep empathy and a relentless focus on solving the real-world challenges of healthcare. YOUR IMPACT: HOW YOU'LL HELP US HEAL A BROKEN SYSTEM This is a rare opportunity to join a small but mighty team in a broad, high-ownership role. The S&O team's work is both internal and externally focused. We untangle cross-team coordination problems, design and own the operational processes that allow our company to scale, but also sometimes represent Verse externally when a partnership or deal calls for it. You'll report to the Head of Strategy & Operations and work closely with functional leaders across Partnerships, Sales, Customer Success, Operations, and Product. WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE: A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS The specific initiative you're staffed on will shift over time, but your contributions will generally fall into a few recurring shapes of work: • Cross-functional coordination on high-stakes, cross-cutting initiatives: situations where multiple teams each own a piece of the puzzle and the work only succeeds if someone drives alignment and follow-through across all of them (e.g., regulatory, compliance, or audit-driven work) • End-to-end program management for complex, high-visibility deployments: running the project plan and owning the outcome, whether that's a major customer or partner implementation, or an initiative requiring close, sustained partnership with Engineering, Product, and Design • Quantitative modeling and strategic analysis: building the financial or operational models that underpin major company decisions, from resourcing to strategic finance questions • Revenue-adjacent strategy and execution: go-to-market strategy in close partnership with Sales, and leading Verse's side of RFPs and similar competitive or procurement processes • Incubating new functions from scratch: taking a "this doesn't exist yet, but we need it" problem and building the team, process, or capability that solves it, from initial design through steady-state operation This role comes with great responsibility - we absolutely love what we do here at Verse and have a healthy culture, but you can expect this role and our expectations to be fairly rigorous. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL LEVERAGE We believe diverse backgrounds lead to better solutions. If you believe you can deliver the outcomes above, we encourage you to apply even if your path here looks different from what's listed. CORE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE • 4+ years in a banking, consulting, startup, or otherwise rigorous role • First-principles thinking: in most cases, the work we're doing has fundamentally never been done before, at Verse or elsewhere. You should be able to construct solutions from scratch. • Quantitative and analytical skills: all of our team members are expected to have solid numerical instincts and modeling skills • Partnerships and sales: all of our team members should expect to carry the baton in some external relationship at some point, whether they're selling something to a customer, selecting and negotiating with vendors, or project managing a new partnership launch. • Implementation and execution: the best team members not only produce insights, recommendations, strategies, but do whatever it takes to make sure these actually come to life. This usually requires a bias for quick action rather than slow and polished deliverables. • Comfort with "spike" work: our workload isn't evenly paced — you flex your hours and effort to match real demand, surging when the team hits a crunch, a live issue, or a time-sensitive push, and settling back into a sustainable pace once it passes THE REWARDS & REALITY: COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & LOGISTICS We believe in taking care of our team, both professionally and personally. Here's what we offer: • Meaningful Compensation: $130,000 to $220,000 base salary. Exact compensation and level are determined through the interview process based on demonstrated experience and scope. • Comprehensive Health & Wellness: We cover 100% of your health insurance premium and provide access to high-quality dental and vision insurance plans for you and your dependents. • Plan for the Future: We offer a 401(k) plan to help you save for your future. At this time, the company does not offer a 401(k) match. • Career Growth: You'll have opportunities for rapid career advancement in a company that's at a major inflection point. We want you to grow with us. WORK ENVIRONMENT & LOCATION: This role is based in our San Francisco or New York office. We have a hybrid model, with a requirement of 4 days per week in the office to foster collaboration and innovation. OUR PLEDGE FOR AN EQUITABLE FUTURE At Verse Medical, our mission is to deliver equitable, hospital-quality care to everyone, regardless of their background or where they live. We can only achieve this if our own team reflects the diversity of the patients we serve. We are committed to building a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging, where their contributions are valued, and where they can do their best work. We embrace diversity of all kinds: race, gender, age, religion, identity, experience. We are actively working to build a more inclusive and equitable world, starting from within our own walls. We are an equal opportunity employer. We are also committed to providing a positive and accessible interview experience. If you require any accommodations to participate in our process, please contact us at recruiting@versemedical.com.
