Job description

OUR MISSION: HOSPITAL-QUALITY CARE, EVERYWHERE. The healthcare industry still relies on faxes and phone tags to coordinate critical care for patients at home. We think patients and the clinicians who serve them deserve better than a system stuck in 1995. Verse Medical is building the modern software infrastructure to make it happen. We're a well-funded Series C company (backed by General Catalyst, SignalFire, and Sapphire Ventures) on a mission to heal a fragmented system. Our platform connects the dots between providers, payors, and patients, ensuring people get the high-quality care they need, reliably and right where they live. We’re growing fast and looking for people who are driven by this mission to join us! OUR VALUES: THE PRINCIPLES THAT GUIDE US Our values are the operating system for how we work together and with our partners. They aren't just words on a wall; they are the principles we bring to every decision, every day. - We are transparent, upfront and direct. We operate with honesty and clarity. We share information openly, the good and the bad, and believe that direct, respectful feedback is the foundation of trust and progress. - We value speed of iteration. We are building something new, which means we learn by doing. We prioritize rapid iteration and getting solutions into the hands of users, believing that progress is more valuable than perfection. - We give 110% effort, 30% of the time. We are passionate about our mission, and there are moments that require us to go the extra mile. We believe in focused intensity when it counts, balanced by a sustainable pace that keeps our team energized for the long run. - We empathize with customers to a fault. When our users face a problem, we own it. Instead of asking them to change, we ask ourselves, "How can we make this better?" We believe true innovation comes from deep empathy and a relentless focus on solving the real-world challenges of healthcare. YOUR IMPACT: HOW YOU'LL HELP US HEAL A BROKEN SYSTEM Verse Medical is scaling fast, and our Talent function needs to scale with it. As Talent Manager, you'll build and lead the team that closes our roles. You'll own the day to day execution of our recruiting engine, hire and develop the recruiters and sourcers who report to you, and partner directly with leadership so we have the right people in place when we need them. This is a zero-to-one opportunity. You're building the team and the playbook, not inheriting either one. This role is for someone who thrives on ambiguity, wants the responsibility of developing other recruiters, and is ready to leave a mark on how Verse Medical hires for years to come. WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE: A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS Within your first year, you'll have the opportunity to: - Team Leadership & Development: Directly manage, coach, and grow a team of recruiters and sourcers. Set clear goals, give real-time feedback, and build a culture of accountability and high performance. - Executive & Critical Searches: Personally lead full-cycle recruitment for your team's most senior, specialized, or sensitive roles, acting as closer when it counts. - Strategic Workforce Planning: Partner with department leaders and the executive team on org design, headcount planning, and market-informed hiring strategy. - Process & Systems Ownership: Own and continuously improve our hiring lifecycle: structured interview design, employer branding, and how we use Ashby, BrightHire, and Juicebox. The goal is a function that scales without breaking. - Data-Driven Reporting: Own pipeline forecasting and compensation benchmarking, and translate recruiting metrics into clear, actionable updates for leadership. - Candidate Experience at Scale: Champion obsessive candidate care across the org, ensuring every interaction reflects our mission and values. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL NEED We believe diverse experiences and backgrounds lead to better solutions. If you believe you can achieve the outcomes above, we encourage you to apply even if your background doesn't check every box. - 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, or equivalent experience, including direct experience managing, mentoring, or leading other recruiters - A track record of building and scaling a recruiting function, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth startup; healthcare or health-tech experience is a strong plus - Demonstrated success hiring and developing high-performing recruiting talent - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills - Comfort operating with real ambiguity, and building process rather than just following it - A passion for our mission and for making an impact in healthcare OUR TEAM & OUR TOOLS You'll be joining the Talent team, a group of innovators who value pragmatism, simplicity, and speed of execution. - ATS: Ashby - Outreach: LinkedIn, Gem, Juicebox - Screening & Interviews: BrightHire, CoderPad THE REWARDS & REALITY: COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & LOGISTICS - Compensation: $160k - $200k base + equity. - Health & Wellness: 100% of your health insurance premium covered, plus dental and vision for you and your dependents - Plan for the Future: 401(k) plan (no company match at this time) - Career Growth: Real opportunities for advancement at a company at a major inflection point Work Environment & Location: Based in our New York City office in Chelsea, hybrid with 4 days/week in-office. OUR PLEDGE FOR AN EQUITABLE FUTURE At Verse Medical, our mission is to deliver equitable, hospital-quality care to everyone, regardless of their background or where they live. We can only achieve this if our own team reflects the diversity of the patients we serve. We are committed to building a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging, where their contributions are valued, and where they can do their best work. We embrace diversity of all kinds: race, gender, age, religion, identity, experience. We are actively working to build a more inclusive and equitable world, starting from within our own walls. We are an equal opportunity employer. We are also committed to providing a positive and accessible interview experience.
