SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Charlotte / Ballantyne, NC | Hybrid | $85k-$110k
We're working a growing life insurance platform focused on retirement and annuity solutions, on a Senior Accountant opportunity reporting directly to the Director of Finance.
This is a great opportunity for an insurance accountant who wants to take ownership across GAAP, STAT, financial reporting and statutory accounting, while gaining direct exposure to senior leadership in a growing business.
KEY SPECIFICATION
Prepare US GAAP & Statutory financial statements
Accounting for multiple life/health insurance entities
Prepare journal entries and detailed balance sheet reconciliations
Support quarterly and annual financial reporting
Assist with Blue Book / statutory reporting
Support external audit and statutory examinations
Maintain and strengthen internal controls
Analyse financial results, trends and variances
Support process improvements and ad-hoc Finance projects
Work directly with the wider Finance team
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of US insurance accounting experience
Life / annuity / health insurance industry experience strongly preferred
Understanding of US GAAP + Statutory Accounting Principles
Blue Book / statutory statement experience highly desirable
Strong Excel / MS Office skills
Experience with an ERP system
Strong analytical and communication skills
CPA or accounting qualification a plus
