Developer Integrations Engineer at Miris

Job description

Building something ambitious requires focus, resilience, and a willingness to take on challenging work. At Miris, we believe that this work can be deeply meaningful when it is supported by a strong team, a clear sense of purpose, and a shared commitment to achieving important outcomes. We are looking for people who are energized by complex problems and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. The Opportunity: Miris is seeking an Integrations Software Engineer, 3D Pipeline to build bridges for Miris: plugins into the tools artists already use, and integrations into the platforms our customers already work in. In this role, you will own integrations from initial scoping through deployment and ongoing support. We are looking for someone with deep graphics domain knowledge who excels at troubleshooting multi-system pipelines. As a remote-first company with a globally distributed team, we value thoughtful collaboration, accountability, and trust. We also believe that every candidate should have an ownership mindset and the opportunity to share in the success they help create, which is why stock options are a significant portion of this role's compensation package. What You'll Do: 4+ years shipping production software Python plus C++, C#, or TypeScript at a production level Strong graphics literacy, including PBR materials, color spaces, and hands on experience with common 3D formats (OpenUSD, glTF, FBX, Alembic) with the ability to explain why the same asset looks different in two renderers Proven ability to debug complex asset pipelines across third-party systems where there may be ambiguity Experience with DCC tool integration (Substance, Maya, Blender, Unreal) and/or platform integrations (SaaS APIs, OAuth, webhooks). Familiarity with OpenUSD composition/schemas, AOUSD involvement, OpenPBR, or MaterialX is a plus. Experience with web/XR graphics runtimes such as Three.js, WebGL, WebGPU, visionOS, or Quest is a plus. Exposure to color management, tonemapping, open source contributions, or joint vendor integrations is a plus. Experience in customer-facing roles during technical integrations, or domain exposure in e-commerce, media and entertainment, or AEC is a plus. What You'll Bring: Build plugins and exporters inside the tools artists already work in including: Substance, Maya, Blender, Houdini, Unity, Unreal so getting an asset into Miris is one step in an artist's normal workflow, not a separate chore. Build integrations into the platforms our customers already publish to: asset management systems, content management systems, and web/SaaS destinations. Own each integration end-to-end. You’ll scope it to an appetite, build it, package and release it, document it, and support it afterward, including the host app's or partner API's version churn. Extend the shared integration framework so each new integration takes less work than the last, instead of a one-off per partner. Maintain asset fidelity across the entire pipeline - managing USD, material attributes, texture standards, scene scaling, and color spaces - and troubleshoot discrepancies when assets render inconsistently across target platforms. Work with partner platforms, SDKs, and APIs to overcome integration constraints through creative problem-solving and proactive communication with external engineering teams. Write documentation and sample code an external developer or artist can follow without a call. Partner with the rest of product engineering — asset pipeline, streaming, cloud — understanding those systems well enough to integrate cleanly without owning them. Work directly with DCC and platform vendors on joint integrations, and help open the door where the relationship has to come before the code. Target Base Salary Range $89,155 — $148,368 USD About Us: Miris is a cutting-edge technology company building the future of 3D content delivery at global scale. Our mission is to empower creators and developers to deliver high-fidelity, photorealistic 3D experiences to billions of users instantly, seamlessly, and across all major platforms and devices. Base salary is influenced by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and responsibilities of the role, internal equity across similar roles, external market benchmarks for comparable positions, and the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
