Job description

Range is creating AI-powered solutions to eliminate financial complexity for our members. We’re transforming wealth management through the perfect blend of cutting-edge technology and human expertise. We’re obsessed with member experience! We’ve built an integrated platform that tackles the full spectrum of financial needs–investments, taxes, retirement planning, and estate management–all unified in one intuitive system. Backed by Google's Gradient Ventures, Cathay Innovations, and Scale Venture Partners, we're in hyper-growth mode and looking for exceptional talent to join our starting lineup. Every Ranger at this stage is shaping our culture and way of life—from former CEOs and startup founders to experts from leading hedge funds and tech companies. If you're ready to build something that truly matters in financial services, bring your talent to Range. Here, you'll make a genuine impact on how people manage their financial lives while working alongside a team that celebrates wins, makes big decisions, and blazes new trails together. ABOUT THE ROLE Range is seeking a Business Operations Manager to help execute the company's most important cross-functional initiatives as we scale. You'll drive key work streams across the company's highest-priority projects: the ones that are too large, too ambiguous, or too cross-cutting for any single function to carry alone. Business Operations owns a rotating portfolio of high-priority projects end-to-end, including scoping the problem, driving execution across teams, and handing the result off to a permanent functional owner once it's running. As a Manager on the team, you'll be the engine behind that execution: building project plans, tracking progress, pulling together the right people, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. It's a role for someone early in their career who is highly organized, energized by ambiguity, and eager to learn the whole business quickly. This role is based at Range's Headquarters in McLean, VA, with an in-office schedule Monday through Friday. WHAT YOU’LL DO WITH US - Drive key workstreams within the company's highest-priority cross-functional initiatives, from kickoff through delivery and hand-off. - Build and maintain project plans with milestones, owners, dependencies, and timelines; and keep them current as initiatives evolve. - Coordinate across multiple teams to keep work moving, surfacing risks and blockers early and following through until they're resolved. - Gather and analyze data to help frame problems, evaluate options, and measure whether initiatives are delivering the intended outcomes. - Prepare clear status updates, meeting materials, and documentation to keep stakeholders aligned. - Help build the templates, trackers, and playbooks that make Business Operations a repeatable, high-leverage engine as Range scales. - Partner cross-functionally with Product, Finance, Operations, Engineering, Compliance, Advisory, and member-facing teams to support strategic initiatives. WHAT WILL SET YOU APART - 5+ years of experience, ideally in management consulting, business operations, or a similar analytical, execution-focused role. - Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university, MBA preferred - Highly organized with excellent project management skills and strong attention to detail. - Analytical, with comfort using data to structure problems and track outcomes. - Able to bring structure to ambiguous situations and stay organized when the path isn't fully defined. - A high degree of ownership and follow-through - Strong communication skills, with the ability to keep multiple stakeholders aligned through clear updates. - Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment. - Exposure to wealth management, FinTech, or another regulated financial services context is a plus. COMPENSATION Base salary range: $100,000 – $170,000 This is the base salary range we expect in good faith to pay for this role at the time of posting. Where an offer lands within the range depends on the scope and complexity of work the candidate can own independently and demonstrated depth at this level. OTHER COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The range above reflects base salary only. Our offer packages also include equity in the form of stock options, so total compensation for this role will exceed the base salary range. We do not ask for or consider salary history. You are welcome to ask questions about compensation at any point in the process. BENEFITS - Health & Wellness: 100% employer-covered medical insurance for employees (75% for dependents), plus dental and vision coverage - 401(k): Retirement savings program to support your future - Paid Time Off: Dedicated time to reset and recharge plus most federal holidays - Parental Leave: Comprehensive leave policy for growing families - Meals: Select meals covered throughout the week - Fitness: Monthly movement stipend - Equity & Career Growth: Early exercise eligibility and a strong focus on professional development - Full access to cutting-edge AI tools: We cover the cost so you can experiment, build, and move faster - Annual Compensation Reviews: Salary and equity refreshes based on performance - Boomerang Program: After two years at Range, you can take time away to start your own company.
