In 2024, Kodiak launched commercial Driver-as-a-Service operations with no one in the cab, and plans to launch driverless long-haul service between Dallas and Houston by the end of 2026. Kodiak has partnered with many of the biggest names in freight, including Bosch for scaled hardware production, AWS, and leading customers including Atlas Energy Solutions, IKEA, Bridgestone, Werner Enterprises, C.R. England, Roehl Transport, and General Dynamics Land Systems. We are looking for an Engineer who will be developing, supporting, maintaining, and evolving 2D and 3D visualization tools for autonomous vehicle development and testing. You have curiosity in AV perception and planning, and enjoy breaking down and presenting complex data in an intuitive, efficient, and effective manner. In this role, you will: Participate in building our tooling suite, proactively identifying opportunities to improve performance and scaling our 2D and 3D visualization capabilities as our fleet grows. Build intuitive interfaces in ReactJS, TypeScript, and Three.js that translate complex AV sensor data into actionable insights for our engineering teams. Partner directly with Software Engineering, Quality, and Operations to deeply understand their workflows, transforming user feedback into high-impact features. Champion code quality and documentation, helping us evolve our infrastructure as we push the boundaries of long-haul autonomous trucking. Qualifications: Strong technical background as evidenced by BS, MS, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline. 2+ years of experience building intuitive fullstack applications. Solid understanding of TypeScript, ReactJS, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies. Experience with modern 2D and 3D JavaScript libraries and tooling, esp. Three.js Experience with app profiling and performance tuning. Experience working with time series robotics data such as Rosbags or mcaps Experience building and maintaining backend services and APIs.
