We are seeking multiple Electrical Design Engineers on behalf of our client, a full-service engineering, energy commodity consulting, construction management and commissioning firm, for their Power & Industrial division. Our client is looking to fill Senior, Mid and Junior level Engineering positions.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will design power generation and electrical infrastructure systems for data centers, smaller municipal utilities and combined-cycle central plants. This role is responsible for preparing single-line diagrams, performing power system studies, laying out equipment, writing specifications and overseeing project execution through construction, testing and commissioning.
These roles are based in the greater Cherry Hill, NJ area.

Responsibilities
Engineering Design & Technical Execution
• Design grid-connected generation systems, including single-line diagrams, interconnection applications, and balance-of-plant electrical systems.
• Perform and document power system calculations, including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, grounding, and cable sizing.
• Lay out electrical equipment and route conduit, duct banks, and cable systems.
• Develop protection and control single-lines, control schematics, wiring, and communication diagrams.
• Prepare electrical equipment, material, and installation specifications, and perform vendor proposal evaluations.
Project Delivery & Construction Support
• Collaborate and coordinate across disciplines with mechanical, controls, civil, and structural engineers.
• Apply internal QA/QC checklists to perform thorough self-checks and check designers' work prior to senior review.
• Support field and office construction activities: review submittals and shop drawings, respond to contractor RFIs, and conduct site surveys, inspections, testing, and commissioning.
• Occasional t ravel to client facilities, substations and construction sites for testing, commissioning and site surveys.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• 2-10+ years of electrical design experience in power generation, distributed generation utility or industrial systems.
• Demonstrated experience in electrical design of generation or medium-voltage (MV) distribution systems, including single-line diagrams and equipment specifications.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower)
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
•
Preferred: Experience in data center or campus central plant environments.
